Release candidate for 1.3.1, with recorder still-image improvements since 1.3.1-rc.8.
What's changed
- Render still images from the video stream for recorder channels explicitly identified as generic RTSP (
ProtocolType=General). These channels can provide RTSP video while the recorder's snapshot endpoint fails or stalls. Avoiding those snapshot requests also leaves more request capacity for other channels. (#1072) - Use the same stream-based image source for MJPEG responses, including
/api/camera_proxy_stream/, so these channels no longer fall back to the failing snapshot endpoint on that path.
The change applies to channels reporting the General protocol. Existing Dahua-protocol and ONVIF behavior is preserved.
Validation
All 4,777 tests passed locally on Python 3.14. Formatting passed across 324 Python files, and GitHub CI passed for the merged implementation.
