What's new

🌐 Introducing Rowboat Spaces. Every teammate. Their own agent. One Space. Rowboat becomes a multiplayer personal assistant for work. A Space brings your team’s conversations, files, and whiteboards together, and everyone brings their own Rowboat: their own memory, tools, and model keys. Your personal assistant can now work alongside your teammates and their assistants in the same room.

🤖 Ask in the Space. Your Rowboat takes it from there. Type @rowboat what is missing? and your Rowboat picks it up on your machine, draws on your Brain, email, meetings, and notes, and brings the answer back as “You (via Rowboat)”. Your personal knowledge stays on your machine; the Space holds what you and your agent choose to share. The room gets a 👀 while work is underway and a ✅ when it settles. If your Rowboat needs a decision, permission, or a private conversation, it leaves a ❗ and asks in your own chat. You can also open the agent conversation behind a Rowboat reply to follow the work.

🎨 From a shared whiteboard to something you can ship. Sketch together with live cursors, then ask @rowboat turn this board into a proposal. Agents can draw on the same board and work with the same files as the team. Markdown documents have version history, diffs, and restore; concurrent text edits merge line by line, with conflicts surfaced for resolution. Open documents and presentations in place, or link a discussion to a file and read them side by side. When the proposal is ready, @rowboat implement the proposal can hand it to Claude Code or Codex on your machine, using the Space’s files as context, and bring the result back for review.

💬 The everyday parts of teamwork are here too. Spaces includes threaded conversations, DMs, notes to yourself, reactions, polls, scheduled messages, and mentions. The composer has formatting controls, link previews, attachments, and voice dictation. An Activity view gathers mentions, DMs, replies in followed threads, and reactions on your messages. Unread state follows your account across devices, and notifications take you back to the conversation. On macOS, the Dock icon shows a count for mentions and DMs, or a dot for other unread activity.

🚪 Start a Space and bring your team. Spaces is now available by default. Open Spaces → Create a server, sign in with Google or Microsoft, and use Copy invite link to bring teammates in. A server is your team’s home for its Spaces; you can create or join more than one. For teams that want to run their own infrastructure, Harbor, the server behind Spaces, is open source and self-hostable. It also exposes an MCP server, so other agents can participate using the same tools as Rowboat. See the Spaces guide or explore Spaces on our website.

🪟 Keep your assistant wherever the work is. Move a conversation between the full Assistant page, a right sidebar, and a floating window. Keep several floating chats open, resize and reorder them, or minimize them into tabs along the bottom. The app now opens on the Assistant; Home becomes Todo, focused on your to-dos. Projects replaces Workspaces and keeps each local project’s chats and files together.

💻 Code Mode puts the conversation first. Start a coding session in one click, with an isolated worktree and your last-used coding agent. Chats are grouped by worktree, and you can open another independent conversation in the same checkout. Branch controls make the starting point easier to choose, while existing sessions keep their worktree paths and history. Your requests go directly to the coding agent, including questions. Diffs and the terminal sit beside the conversation, and completed sessions move to a Done pile.

🔎 One shortcut to find your way around. ⌘K / Ctrl+K now opens a unified navigation and search palette for sections, Spaces, people, chats, Brain notes, and Code sessions. Search Space messages and files alongside your personal notes and conversations, use # to find a Space or @ to find a person, and press Tab to cycle search scopes.

Also in this release

  • Gmail recovers more reliably after rate limits: fallback retries stop pushing the resume time forward, background requests respect the cooldown, and sync resumes gently instead of immediately triggering another lockout. The failure indicator clears after recovery.
  • Hover mode gets a compact card with text, voice, and screen-sharing controls, plus a folded call pill. Hands-free push-to-talk now works on Windows, with the correct right Ctrl shortcut shown in the UI.
  • The built-in browser gains vertical tabs with favicons and right-click menus for links, images, and selected text.
  • Chat scrolling follows incoming replies more reliably while letting you scroll back to read. Floating chats stay visible while resizing, and overlays no longer get stranded when switching sections.
  • Spaces reconnects and catches up more reliably after interruptions; search results and Activity links can jump to older messages, and navigation restores where you left off.
  • Shared Markdown checkboxes work again after saves and remote edits. Space files gain copy and download actions, and whiteboard saves are protected against accidentally replacing a real board with an empty scene.
  • WhatsApp pairing works again after a WhatsApp Web version change.
  • Updated model recommendations now arrive as a choice: review the suggested changes for the assistant and background tasks, then select which ones to apply.
