Installing now works from any computer, Windows included, with nothing extra to set up.

Changed

  • Installing needs nothing extra. On a Mac, a Linux machine, or Windows in the Git Bash window that Git for Windows adds, ./deploy.sh <tv-ip> is the whole install. It no longer needs Python or netcat on the computer, SSH set up on the TV, or the TV to reach the internet: the files go straight from the computer to the TV. (#127)
  • The server starts again by itself after the TV restarts, by default. --no-persist leaves that out, and --persist still works. (#127)

Fixed

  • The install script no longer reports success when nothing was installed. On Windows it used to close as if it had worked while the TV received nothing. It now checks that the files arrived and the dashboard answers, and stops with a plain explanation if not. (#126, #127)
  • Windows line endings no longer break the scripts. (#126)

Nothing changes on a TV that is already installed: updating it from the Server tab reinstalls the same server.
