Updates from the dashboard and Home Assistant, and an Uptime entity that says when the TV last booted.
Added
- Updating in place. A new Server tab shows the installed version and whether a newer release is out, installs it and restarts the server, and rolls back to the version before. Check daily looks on its own and gives Home Assistant an update entity with an install button. Over ssh:
tvwebctl update, tvwebctl update --checkandtvwebctl rollback. Deep link:/?tab=server. (#103)
Changed
-
Uptime reports when the TV last booted. The Home Assistant entity keeps its id but now holds a timestamp, shown as "3 days ago", instead of a count of seconds, and moves to the diagnostic category. Automations or templates that read it as a number need changing. (#109)
-
deploy.shneeds the TV's address. It no longer falls back to a built-in one, and neither dotvmon.pyandtvstats.sh. (#106)
Fixed
-
MQTT stayed disconnected after a connection dropped mid-packet. The next connection's reply was read onto the leftover fragment, so the bridge went quiet with nothing logged until the server restarted. (#106)
-
The log grew without limit. It is now rotated at 256 KB, keeping one previous copy. (#106)
-
Device names reached the dashboard unescaped. Input labels and process names from the TV are now escaped. (#106)
-
Newer webOS logged a Buffer deprecation warning the first time a key was sent to the TV. (#110)
Worth knowing: installs from before this release have no updater, so this one goes on the old way - pull the latest code and run deploy.sh again. From here on the Server tab handles it. See Updating.
