The ad & telemetry blocker could report as on while none of its domains were in effect.
Fixed
- The blocker was a no-op on installs where something else owns
/etc/hosts. It decided it was active by asking/proc/mountswhether anything at all was mounted there, which answers a different question. On a set where webosbrew bind-mounts that path for its own purposes, the switch wrote its table, saw a mount it assumed was its own, and reported success with nothing blocked. It now looks for its own marker in the live/etc/hosts, and enabling stacks a bind mount on top of whatever is already there. Reported on r/homeassistant against a 55UH6030 on webOS 3.4.3. (#74)
Changed
- Corrected the note on which firmware rebuilds the consent flags at boot. Both webOS 4.4.0 and 4.4.3 do. The earlier claim that 4.4.3 did not rested on
cookiesAllowedsurviving a reboot, and that flag is absent from the agreement mapping, so the rebuild never touches it. The fix shipped in v0.26.0 was already correct; only the explanation was wrong. (#73)
