The privacy panel's data-collection agreements are now controls rather than a report, and the ad sinkhole gains a tier that leaves the LG Content Store working.
New
- Consent flags can be switched off from the panel: LG's agreements were reported and unchangeable, on the conclusion that no Luna setter existed.
com.webos.settingsserviceowns them, and writes through it survive a reboot —/var/luna/preferences/eulais a mirror the service regenerates at boot, which is why editing the file reverted. Reported on a C8 in #61, confirmed on a B8 and a C2. (#62) - Sinkhole tier that spares the Content Store: Ads & telemetry blocks the nine ad and diagnostics hosts and leaves LG's service platform reachable; everything is the previous behaviour. The store server differs by platform —
com.webos.appInstallServiceinstalls fromlgtvsdp.comon webOS 4 andnextlgsdp.comon webOS 9 — and the full tier adds whichever the TV names itself. (#62) - Agreements grouped by subject, with the flags LG never described kept together and named where the licence mapping names them. A flag is only offered as a toggle if it has a description or appears in that mapping, which is read from the TV at runtime because it differs between firmwares. (#62)
Fixed
- Sinkhole reported inactive after a boot that restored it: the boot restore checked whether the bind-mount existed immediately before creating it, and that answer stood for 30 seconds. (#62)
