Internet TV on Glasshouse Home, with a channel lineup and a programme guide. Also: switches to stop LG's device scans flooding a network-wide ad blocker, Glasshouse Home offered on webOS 11 without a setting, a lighter Home while idle, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Details

  • Internet TV: Glasshouse Home gains an Internet TV row for an M3U playlist or Xtream subscription you already have, with live previews, full-screen playback, number keys and a programme guide. Manage channels builds a numbered lineup from whole groups or single channels, with up to 60 favourites on Home. Glasshouse supplies no channels. Thanks to @Nutcasey (#1163), and to @arctumn for testing on a 1 GB TV and the fixes that came from it: more channels play, failures are worded more clearly, it works on TVs with little memory, and whole-group sections can be reordered.
  • Guide: Channel up and Channel down turn a page of channels at a time (#1238).
  • LG's device scans: two switches in the Apps tab's background services. Network Device Scans stops the program that looks up every address on the home network, which an ad blocker such as Pi-hole shows as hundreds of requests. Smart Home Device Polling, on webOS 11, stops what asks for those scans every 5 minutes. With either off, the Home Hub finds no new devices. Answer device scans on the TV is gone, as it never stopped them. Thanks to @GravityBendsTime for testing (#244, #1237).
  • Glasshouse Home on webOS 11 no longer needs allowExperimentalHome, after owners of a C5, G3, G4 and C3 ran it (#1235).
  • Glasshouse Home on webOS 3 can be tried by setting "allowExperimentalHome": true. It hasn't been tried on a webOS 3 TV yet (#1239).
  • Glasshouse Home draws far less while it sits idle, and Recent apps no longer reloads its pictures each time it opens. Thanks to @maxdewald (#1226). Its clock no longer appears before the layout has loaded (#1232).
  • Screen saver: Glasshouse's screen savers start on TVs where LG's own Screen Saver setting is off, such as some LCD models. LCD TVs no longer show the OLED panel readings (#1218, #1233).
  • Home Assistant: the media player's volume slider works both ways, and it shows whether the TV is playing or paused, and which app is open. Thanks to @tibuntu (#1129). The Magic Remote battery now reads on MR19 remotes, which report high, medium or low. Thanks to @abjugard (#1219).
  • Play / Pause now pauses web apps that play through Web Audio, such as music players. Thanks to @HaydenGriffin (#1051).
  • Update blocking also blocks LG's development update server and firmware download CDN. Thanks to @LeoAj2005 (#1141).
  • Translations: Brazilian Portuguese, thanks to @danielteles (#1158). More Polish, thanks to @Noxarian (#1098). Hungarian's reviewed wording throughout, thanks to @danzig666 (#1132).
  • Tested TVs: OLED55G2, OLED65C8, OLED48C2 and 43UJ634V (#1228).
