Quieter on the network, a clock screen saver with the date, and fixes for older TVs and webOS 11.
Details
- Answer device scans on the TV: LG's device detection looks up the name of every address on the home network. On some TVs it does this every 5 minutes, even with Auto device detection off, and network ad blockers such as Pi-hole show it as hundreds of requests. A new switch on the System tab makes the TV answer these lookups itself, so they stay off the network. Off by default. Thanks to @Netswipe, @woodedjurassicpark, @ozgurhtwg and guitartoys on Reddit for the reports and logs (#244, #1146).
- Clock with date screen saver: the clock with seconds, and the weekday and date beneath it. It follows the TV's 12- or 24-hour setting. Thanks to @Rogerthis (#1054).
- Glasshouse Home on webOS 11 after a wake: Home could come back from standby on screen but ignoring the remote. It's now reopened once, a few seconds after each wake. Glasshouse Home is still experimental on webOS 11. Thanks to @MyCodeHub1234 for the report and the workaround (#1122, #1148).
- Older TVs: Glasshouse no longer keeps asking webOS 3 TVs for readings they can't give, which filled their log with errors every couple of seconds. Thanks to @SteadVex (#1112, #1119).
- Experimental DTS forwarding for TV apps, on one qualified G5 with its own separately installed package. Every other TV sees nothing of it. Thanks to @Nutcasey (#1007).
