A redesigned Panel vitals screen saver, device names on your Home screen's HDMI tiles, and secure Home Assistant connections on older TVs.

Details

  • Panel vitals screen saver is redesigned as a grid of boxes showing the TV's readings, such as panel hours, temperature, memory and remote battery. Boxes change every few seconds, and the grid moves around the screen to avoid burn-in (#807).
  • HDMI tiles on the Home screen (webOS 9): when you highlight an input tile that Glasshouse added, it now shows the devices connected to it, such as "Receiver / PlayStation 5 — HDMI 2", or the TV's own name for the input. Thanks to @Nutcasey (#802).
  • Secure Home Assistant connections on older TVs: TVs on older webOS versions can now connect to an MQTT broker over TLS when its certificate comes from Let's Encrypt, or is self-signed. Place the certificate at /var/lib/tvweb/mqtt-ca.pem. Thanks to @Molotovsk (#806, #808).
  • Docs: corrected notes on the web app debugger on TVs without a firewall, with advice on keeping such TVs safe (#809).
