Glasshouse's own screen savers are now on by default on webOS 10, and app catalogs other than the Homebrew Channel's can be added on the Apps tab.

Details

  • Custom screen savers no longer need the experimental switch on webOS 10, after reports from a C5 and a C2 ran them without problems. If the TV doesn't take a switch without restarting its app manager, which caused the black picture and lost sound in #366, the switch is undone and LG's screen saver kept. They stay experimental on webOS 11 and later, which nobody has tried yet (#787).
  • Other app catalogs, on the Apps tab, adds catalogs other than the Homebrew Channel's from their address or GitHub page, such as one for a fork of YouTube AdFree. Their apps are listed separately with Install, Update, Uninstall and Launch, and checked for updates. Adding one needs Install from a URL turned on, or a token (#785).
  • The catalog lists show Launch beside installed apps. Where the TV has the LG store's own app under the same ID, such as YouTube, the catalog's app shows as not installed, and installing it asks before replacing LG's. Install and uninstall failures appear as the page's error banner, in plain words (#785).
  • The catalog lists show 10 apps at a time, with Show 10 more beneath, and the added catalogs' list has its own search (#786).
