First tagged release. On-TV telemetry server and Home Assistant MQTT bridge for rooted LG webOS TVs.
Tested on one set only: OLED65B8SLC, webOS 4.4.3, firmware 05.50.70. The Luna service names and /proc/lg paths this depends on may differ across webOS versions and panel types — please open an issue with your model, webOS version and /var/lib/tvweb/tvweb.log whether it works or not.
What it does
- Dashboard served by the TV itself to any browser on your network. No internet access needed; fonts and assets are served locally.
- 33 Home Assistant entities over MQTT Discovery as a single auto-discovered device, no YAML.
- OLED panel health — cumulative panel hours, the 4-hour Off-RS compensation cycle, and the 2,000-hour Pixel Refresher countdown, with scheduling. Not available anywhere else, since it needs root.
- Hardware telemetry webOS never surfaces: SoC temperature and current draw, per-core CPU load, memory and zram swap, Wi-Fi RSSI, network throughput, and eMMC flash wear.
- Local control — volume, mute, input switching, on-screen toasts, power, and OLED panel blanking so music plays without burning panel hours.
Notes
- Pure ES5 on the Node 0.12 runtime the TV already ships. Zero dependencies, no install step.
- Panel-health features detect themselves as unavailable on LCD/QNED sets and are withheld from both the dashboard and MQTT discovery, rather than reported as zeros.
- The dashboard and the MQTT bridge are independently toggleable; an MQTT-only install exposes no HTTP endpoint at all.
- Read docs/SECURITY.md. There is no dashboard authentication unless you set a token, and the TV should have its own MQTT user with a restricted ACL.
