Added
- Beats. The Inspector's Beats section on an audio or video clip finds
the music's tempo, a steady beat grid (fitted to the hits, so it doesn't drift
over a song) and the drop, and shows the beat as ticks across the timeline.
Mark puts a marker on every beat, Snap cuts rolls each cut on the
targeted video tracks onto the nearest beat (nothing else moves), and
Re-cut lays a track's clips back to back so each lasts 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16
beats. Each is one undo step. Agents usefablecut_beats, which keeps a
version before snapping or re-cutting. - Reframe. Make a 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5 copy of an edit whose shots follow the
subject: each full-frame shot is fitted to the new shape and a virtual camera
pans after what matters in it (motion, detail and colour, held in a dead
zone, eased, no faster than a pan speed), written as ordinary position keys.
From New sequence… (Follow the subject in each shot) or the Inspector's
Reframe section (Follow subject, Centre, Lively / Balanced / Steady).
Titles and clips placed by hand are left alone. Agents usefablecut_reframe. - Highlights. The best moments of long footage, cut into a short edit: every
half second of the timeline's video is scored for movement, sound louder than
around it and a clear picture; the best moments of a few seconds each go back
to back in a new sequence, in story order, never across a cut already in the
footage, their ends on quiet points. From the sequence menu's Highlights…
(15–90 s, any canvas, optionally following the subject). Agents use
fablecut_highlights.
Changed
- The reference analyzer (
fablecut_analyze_reference) now shares its beat
detector with Beats; its results are unchanged.
Fixed
- Undo after an agent edit. An edit that reaches the open editor from
outside (an agent, another tab) is now an undo step of its own: Ctrl+Z takes
back that edit first and says so, and the next Ctrl+Z goes on to your own
edits. Before, Ctrl+Z replayed your previous step over it, so the agent's
change was lost along with yours. When an outside edit lands while your own
change is still unsaved, the outside edit wins as before, and Ctrl+Z now
puts your version back. - Agent tools never write over what they couldn't read. When the project
file can't be read just before an agent's edit is saved, the edit is refused
instead of being written as if nothing had changed.
