Added
- Silence removal. The inspector's Silence section on an audio or
video clip (or right-click → Find silences) listens to the take and
marks every pause on the timeline; Cut extracts them on the targeted
tracks in one undo step. Set how quiet counts as silence, the shortest
pause to cut, and how much quiet to keep beside each phrase so words
aren't clipped. Cuts land on whole frames, linked stems stay in step and
locked tracks (a music bed) keep running. Agents use the new
fablecut_silencetool: it reports the pauses, and withcut:truecuts
them in one revision after keeping a version of the project. - Transcripts and text-based editing. The new Transcript tab beside
the Inspector turns the speech on the timeline into words with times. It
runs Whisper in the browser: the model (77 MB, or 250 MB for the more
accurate one) downloads once, and the audio never leaves your machine.
Click a word to go there, select words and press Delete to cut them with
the pause after them, or find a phrase and cut every place it is said, in
one undo step. Transcripts are kept per file inanalysis/transcripts/.
Agents use the newfablecut_transcribetool: it reads the timeline's words
as timed lines, finds phrases, and withcut:truecuts them in one revision
after keeping a version of the project. - Captions. The Transcript tab's Add captions makes captions from
the transcript, timed word by word, in four styles: subtitle, karaoke,
highlight (the word being said in colour) and word pop. They are sized for
the canvas, break at pauses and sentences, and land on their own lane above
the edit. SRT and VTT download them, and Import… places a subtitle
file's captions. Text clips gainwordTimes, which word-pop, word-slide,
karaoke and the newhighlightanimation follow, andhighlightColor.
Agents use the newfablecut_captionstool. - Apple Silicon VideoToolbox export profiles
videotoolbox-h264and
videotoolbox-hevc. Enables hardware-accelerated H.264 and HEVC encode on
Apple Silicon. Also registersh264_videotoolboxandhevc_videotoolboxin
the delivery presets encoder list. Needs macOS on Apple Silicon and an ffmpeg
built with videotoolbox. (thanks @bradvatne, #128)
Changed
- Each level of the editor's layout has its own tone: the app background,
panel bodies, the header bars and toolbars on top of each panel, and the
controls, darkest at the back, so the structure reads at a glance. The
timeline's lanes sit in a darker well under their track headers and ruler,
and Inspector sections are soft cards.
