Home Screen Layouts (Early Preview)
The home screen is no longer just the carousel. Pick the carousel, an auto grid that fills itself from your library, or a custom grid you arrange by hand with tiles for games, collections and apps. Each layout brings its own options, and your choice applies to the companion display as well as the main one.
This is an early preview of ongoing work to bring the single-display and dual-screen home screens to parity and to widen what you can customize, so expect it to keep changing. Please report anything that looks off, especially tiles not staying where you put them, the custom grid behaving differently on the companion screen, and the two screens disagreeing about what to show.
Everything under New Features is new in this release and lightly tested on hardware, so the same applies there.
New Features
- Home screen layouts: carousel, auto grid, or a custom grid you arrange yourself, applied to the main and companion displays alike
- Original Xbox support via hakuX. The launch handoff has not been tested on hardware yet, so please report whether your games actually start. hakuX needs its own MCPX boot ROM, BIOS and hard disk image, which now appear in the BIOS manager and can be copied out to a folder of your choosing
- In-game status bar showing battery, clock, session time, FPS and last save. Untested on hardware, so please report if it overlaps game content or does not appear
Improvements
- The companion display's home now mirrors the main screen's sections and breadcrumb
- Controller profiles are remembered per device, and unbound buttons no longer reach the game
- Speedrun comparisons refresh after each attempt and fall back to best segments
- Changing an emulator keeps the rest of that configuration's settings
Bug Fixes
- Fix a startup crash for libraries containing duplicate game discs
- Fix games ending their session when the launcher briefly reappeared, which dropped dual-screen players back to Argosy at launch
- Fix the companion display swallowing controller presses after using the app drawer
- Fix PS2 saves not syncing when the memory card sits below the configured folder
- Fix RetroAchievements hashing failing for some ROMs
- Region filtering no longer applies a filter by default
