Note
Developer preview: this release includes snapshot save sync (save channels, a save timeline and conflict choices) and save sync for more standalone emulators. Both need a RomM server with snapshot support and stay off until the snapshot feature is released.
New Features
- 3D box art: Library, Home, game details and the presentation screen draw a 3D box from the cover and spine scans, falling back to RomM's 3D box image and then the flat cover, and the Artwork menu has a 3D Box slot
- Animated lock screen: your library scrolls across the lock screen in rows of box art when Argosy is your home app
- AYANEO Pocket FIT performance modes and refresh rate in quick settings
Improvements
- Redesigned quick settings panel (R3) with a status header, friends, music volume, a stats overlay, full-range custom fan control, and Swap X/Y and Swap Start/Select
- Settings choices are now segmented controls you step through with left and right
- Controller types per player, such as the Wii Nunchuk, can be set from built-in controls settings as well as in-game
- Settings platform lists update when you enable or disable a platform or sync your library
- While you edit a platform's settings, the second screen shows that platform's games
- Square screens show the game info above or below the carousel
- Narrower navigation drawer
- Game details show the built-in save folder the launch uses
- With root, Argosy closes an external emulator before each fresh launch so it opens the game you picked
- Thor second-screen brightness from quick settings, and DS/3DS second screens use any lit second panel
- Play-in-background toggle for music
- Translations updated across all seven languages
Bug Fixes
- Fixed covers showing the 3D box image and box art tiles drawing empty
- Fixed dual-screen menus skipping an item per press
- Games no longer wait to launch when the RomM server is down or unreachable behind a proxy (#476)
- Built-in Dolphin Wii saves sync, and move between built-in and standalone Dolphin
- A save downloaded at launch is always the newest one on the server
- Several saves made offline for one game raise a single conflict, and keeping yours uploads all of them in order
- A cancelled launch no longer blocks the next one
- Korean GameCube saves land in Dolphin's JAP folder, and Ryujinx, Kenji-NX, Skyline and Strato use their real save folders
- Folder ROMs launch the right file
- Clearing the image cache keeps your artwork overrides, and art the server removed is dropped
- Swapping screens keeps the open screen and your place on Home
- Home no longer flashes empty after a screen swap or rebuild
- A launch interrupted by the system rebuilding the screen no longer ends the game session
- On dual-screen devices, returning to Argosy ends the game session reliably and the session-end overlay shows once
- Background music no longer fades out when focus moves between screens
- Fixed an issue parsing RomM image paths
- Steam sign-in keeps its session and identifies each device, so Steam rejects fewer sign-ins
- GameNative and Windows custom games show up in Recent
- Security hardening for backups, downloads and archives
