github rommapp/argosy-launcher v1.3.0

Note

Steam / GameNative install handoff: the previous "downloads just appear in GameNative" behavior was working largely by luck — GameNative's discovery scanner happened to pick up files Argosy dropped into its install tree. GameNative v0.9.1 tightened that scanner, and the right model going forward is for Argosy to hand installs over explicitly. For now that handoff is manual: after a download finishes you'll need to add it once in GameNative's UI. A new notice card under Steam Settings → Install Path explains this. We're waiting on GameNative to add support for batched / external-path imports before this can be made fully automatic again.

New Features

  • Double-tap anywhere to open or close the Quick Menu — touch users no longer need a gamepad. Thanks @peanut250 (#182).
  • Added PSX2 by izzy2lost as a PS2 emulator option.
  • Added two new built-in cores: Play! for PS2 and Retro-8 for PICO-8 (Issue #194). Both are newly integrated and considered unstable — please report any crashes or rendering issues.

Improvements

  • The RetroArch save-path picker now writes its diagnostic output to the in-app log, and figures out the right core sub-folder on its own when "Sort Saves into Folders by Core Name" is on.
  • Cover-derived box-art glow now shows up in the settings preview and works with every border style, not just gradient.
  • Heavy daily players no longer hit the Android 14+ background-service time cap during long sync sessions or dual-screen sessions.
  • Argosy now works correctly on devices with multiple users or a work profile (paths no longer assume the primary user).

Bug Fixes

  • Fix newly-downloaded ROMs refusing to launch on Android 15 (Issue #187).
  • Fix the system nav bar briefly showing on the companion display right after boot in dual-screen mode (Issue #189).
  • Fix PS2 saves restoring into a folder NetherSX2 didn't recognize, so saves looked "missing" after sync.
  • Fix RetroArch save paths losing the core folder name when no core was selected (Issue #185).
