Highlights

An app can now show as one entry in the switcher, letter hints can sit on the home row, BetterCmdTab speaks Japanese, and the switcher hides at once even when the target app is busy.

Added

  • Show as one entry (Settings › Apps, per app rule): lists an app once instead of once per window; its windows stay in the window shelf, under ↓ and under ⌘`. (#253)
  • One letter per window (Settings › Keyboard › Home row letter jump): every entry gets a single home-row-first letter, so any window is one keystroke away. (#252)
  • Exclude the current app (Settings › Switcher Shortcuts, per shortcut): the list shows only other apps, so the first press always goes somewhere else. (#190)
  • Repeat presses (Settings › Window Shortcuts): pressing an app's shortcut again while it is in front steps through its windows. (#217)
  • Japanese localization.

Changed

  • Windows you have not visited since launch are ranked by their on-screen stacking order instead of creation order. (#279)
  • The menu bar items read "Settings…" and "Check for Updates…" again.
  • Newer options (vertical position, distance from top, moving the pointer to the window's display, first ⌘Tab selects, show as one entry) are marked unstable in Settings.

Fixed

  • Releasing ⌘ no longer leaves the switcher, or a ghost of its glass, on screen for a second when the target app is busy.
  • A quick ⌘Tab tap leaves the current app when another app is pinned ahead of it. (#278)
  • A four-finger desktop swipe no longer triggers the three-finger switcher gesture. (#259)
  • With commit on release on, a finger brushing the trackpad after the swipe moved the selection no longer leaves the switcher open.
  • With "Always use English keyboard mapping" on, closing a window from the switcher on AZERTY or Dvorak no longer sends Undo or Settings to the app.
  • In the centered position, an open window shelf no longer pushes the switcher row up.
  • "Exclude the current app" also works for apps whose launcher starts another binary, such as Emacs for Mac OS X.
  • A failed Handoff press no longer pulls focus away from a switcher you opened right after it.
  • Editing a rule in the Apps pane after importing settings no longer restores the old window title exclusions, and one malformed exclusion in config.json no longer drops all of them.
