Highlights
The tab strip is rebuilt to match the macOS 26 tab bar, tabs now show up in the order the app draws them, and every switcher animation can be switched off in one place.
Added
- New Animations switch in Appearance turns switcher motion into instant cuts, and motion now follows the system Reduce Motion setting automatically.
Changed
- Drilling into tabs with
\shows a redesigned strip: equal-width tabs on the panel backdrop with a single glass capsule sliding to the selection, matching the macOS 26 tab bar. - Tab titles in the strip follow your title truncation setting (#90) and your font size and typeface (#62).
- Windows with hundreds of tabs open the strip as fast as windows with three, and scroll without stutter.
- The grid glides to its new arrangement whenever it reflows — filtering a search, closing a window, or the tab strip appearing — instead of snapping in one frame.
- The whole switcher panel picks up the same specular glass edge as the selection capsule.
Fixed
- Tabs are listed in the order they appear on screen instead of a shuffled order, including Finder and Terminal windows, whose tabs previously came back in an arbitrary sequence.
- Drilling into a tabbed window starts on the tab you were using rather than always the first one.
