Highlights
This release makes BetterCmdTab faster, more reliable across displays and Spaces, and much more customizable. It also adds powerful browser-tab features, improved search, live previews, and new appearance controls.
Added
- Fine-tune the switcher size from 50% to 150%, choose a System, Light, or Dark appearance, and preview changes directly from Settings.
- Customize label size, font style, and where long titles are shortened.
- Search by simply typing when letter hints are disabled.
- Optional search improvements can rank the best matches first and find background browser tabs without permanently expanding them.
- Browser tabs can now display favicons, with optional tab previews in the Window Previews layout.
- Optional live window previews can refresh while the switcher remains open.
- Drag pinned apps into your preferred order directly in Settings.
- In Applications Only mode, drill into an app to select one of its windows.
- Keep the switcher open after a quick tap from mouse- or gesture-based shortcuts.
- Choose a bundled macOS switching sound or import your own local audio file.
- Enter exact values for panel opacity, timing controls, and history limits.
- Added full Simplified Chinese localization.
Changed
- The switcher now opens, closes, and activates windows more smoothly while using fewer resources during idle periods and repeated use.
- Browser-tab ordering keeps only the active tab at the front, making recent-item ordering more predictable.
- The switcher highlight now always follows the current macOS accent color.
- Reverse window-switch shortcuts can also move through applications in the opposite direction.

- Fixed the switcher becoming invisible after entering or leaving full-screen Spaces (#46, #64, #94).
- Fixed the switcher becoming invisible or appearing on the main display instead of the display under the pointer (#93).
- Fixed quick ⌘Tab switching ignoring window filters or starting from the wrong application with alphabetical and launch-order sorting (#88, #112).
- Fixed sorting and scope filters being lost after closing, minimizing, or hiding an item from the switcher (#110).
- Fixed minimizing full-screen windows from the switcher (#108).
- Fixed recorded shortcuts showing incorrect keys on non-QWERTY keyboard layouts (#87).
- Fixed search and letter shortcuts with IME input sources (#106).
- Fixed panel clicks being intercepted by utilities that monitor modifier-key mouse gestures (#36).
- Improved the reliability of three-finger swipe gestures and long-running background services.
- Fixed browser favicons appearing too large or blurry in grid layouts.
- Fixed the panel lingering briefly after selecting an application or window.
Removed
- Removed the custom accent color picker in favor of automatically matching the macOS accent color.
