This is v1.24.4 of the Smart Node, including client updates, a devnet on the Plataberget network, RocketDash governance integration, networking improvements, and additional Saturn 2 support.
This is a medium-priority upgrade for Geth, Nethermind, Nimbus, and Teku users, and a low-priority upgrade for all other users.
Client Updates
- Geth updated to v1.17.8 — security fixes
- Nethermind updated to v2.1.0
- Nimbus updated to v26.10.0 — medium-urgency update

Smart Node changes
- Migrated off-chain governance information from Snapshot to RocketDash, including proposal details, voting status, and dashboard metrics;
- Improved
rocketpool node statusperformance by batching minipool queries; - Improved support for changing public IP addresses: Geth and Erigon now use STUN by default, while Lodestar can update its advertised address. Explicit Geth and Erigon NAT overrides are preserved;
- Fixed IPv4 port publishing when IPv6 is enabled, Teku’s advertised ports for IPv6-only configurations, and Reth discovery ports;
- Fixed Teku memory-setting changes restarting the wrong container, Prysm monitoring remaining enabled when metrics are disabled, and Reth CORS flags;
- Restricted Nethermind’s mainnet history-pruning cutoff to mainnet and adjusted FlatDB repair handling for archive nodes;
- Reduced Smart Node update checks to once per hour;
- Improved
rocketpool node syncso progress is displayed before the deposit-contract network check; - Fixed observe-mode registration checks and protected fee-recipient settings from changes involving the observed wallet;
- Added Platåberget testnet support with Geth or Nethermind and Lodestar, Nimbus, or Teku;
- Added Saturn 2 performance challenges for minipools and megapools, including batch submission, automatic defense and finalisation, and RPL bond settlement;
- Added
rocketpool megapool exit-deficitto request permissionless exits when another megapool’s deficit permits them; - Improved performance verification, beacon proofs, and megapool exit handling for Saturn 2 and Gloas.
Performance challenges and deficit exits are available only on networks where Saturn 2 is deployed.
