This is v1.9.8 of the Smartnode.

This is a recommended update for all users as it has all of the latest client versions and reduces CPU load when metrics are enabled - especially on the Prater testnet.

To upgrade, follow the Smartnode upgrade instructions.

Client Updates

  • Updated Besu to v23.4.4
  • Updated Nethermind to v1.19.3.
  • Updated Lodestar to v1.9.1.
  • Updated Nimbus to v23.6.1.
  • Updated Teku to v23.6.1.
  • Updated MEV-Boost to v1.6.0.
    • NOTE: MEV-Boost no longer has separate "portable" and "modern" binaries. It uses a new BLS library which is compatible with all node hardware, so there is now one tag for everyone.
  • Updated Grafana to v9.4.13.
  • Updated Prometheus to v2.45.0.
  • Updated Node Exporter to v1.6.0.

NOTE for Prysm Users
Prysm's debug image for v4.0.6 (which Rocket Pool requires due to it having a Linux shell) claims to contain the v4.0.5 binaries. The Prysm team has been notified but is not in a position to redeploy the Docker image with the correct version at this time. Due to this, we have created our own Docker image for Prysm v4.0.6 which uses the correct binaries from their release page.

If you are an x64 user and have any concerns about this image and want to use the official one instead despite the version mismatch, please use the following tags:

  • BN: prysmaticlabs/prysm-beacon-chain:HEAD-a75e78-debug
  • VC: prysmaticlabs/prysm-validator:HEAD-a75e78-debug

Smartnode Changes

  • The routine for checking rewards interval events now uses the new Atlas-based lookup, which makes metrics and the rocketpool node claim-rewards function faster and use less CPU.

Bug Fixes

  • Enabling Beaconcha.in monitoring metrics for Lodestar should now work properly.
