Luigi's Mansion Recompiled 1.1.6 adds the Japanese version, a choice of every version's mansion in E. Gadd's lab, and texture packs. It also fixes the once-a-minute freeze, the music crackle at the mansion walk-up and crashes from damaged disc images. On 1.1 or later, the game offers it in F1 > Game > Updates.
No game data is included. On first start the game asks for your own disc image (ISO/RVZ and other Dolphin formats) of the USA release (GLME01), the European release (GLMP01) and/or the Japanese release (GLMJ01). Read the README.txt in the package for requirements and details.

New
- Japanese version (GLMJ01). The Japanese disc is a third supported base, next to the USA and European ones: add it in the setup screen (or F1 > Game). Every enhancement works on it. Its saves are kept apart from the other versions'.
- Every version's mansion in E. Gadd's lab. The three releases differ in more than language: hearts, money, ghosts, bosses and the Hidden Mansion all differ in places. With more than one disc added, the lab offers "The Mansion (USA) / (Japan) / (PAL)" and "The Hidden Mansion (USA) / (Japan) / (PAL)" for the discs you have, on any base, and asks on every visit. With one disc, nothing changes.
- Texture packs (F1 > Visuals > Texture packs). Packs made for Dolphin work as they are: put them in the texture packs folder (the button opens it) and switch on "Use texture packs". Pack makers can dump the game's textures in Dolphin's format from the same page. Off by default.
- Disc image check (#37). The setup screen now checks your disc image against the retail files, and warns if it is damaged or modified (a bad dump crashed the game in #37). You can still play anyway.
Fixed
- The game froze for a moment about once a minute (#43). The memory report written to
last_run.logevery minute walked the whole game heap on the game's own thread. It now runs in the background, and the heap walk is off by default. - Music crackle at the walk-up to the mansion (#25). At the thunder clap, the music stream could be started twice at once, and the two copies played over each other. Now the stream starts once, as on a GameCube. Fixed on all three versions.
- Timers that came out wrong. The European game's frame pacing and other game timers could fire at the wrong time after long pauses or with delays in the past. They now behave as on a GameCube.
Known issues
- The 2-player mode (Unused content) is unfinished.
