Luigi's Mansion Recompiled 1.1.4 fixes the freezes on Linux with NVIDIA, makes high frame rates smoother, and adds a Silly tab and Mirrored Mansion. On 1.1 or later, the game offers it in F1 > Game > Updates.
No game data is included. On first start the game asks for your own disc image (ISO/RVZ and other Dolphin formats) of the USA release (GLME01) and/or the European release (GLMP01). Read the README.txt in the package for requirements and details.

New
- Mirrored Mansion (F1 > Enhancements > Gameplay): play the whole game left/right mirrored, the way the European Hidden Mansion is.
- It works in the normal mansion and in both Hidden Mansions, on either disc, and can be switched on and off at any time.
- The 3D picture, the Game Boy Horror map and the speakers are flipped, and so is the stick (push right to go right on screen). The HUD, text and menus are not.
- Silly tab (F1 > Enhancements > Silly), just for fun and all off by default:
- Luigi: head size, body size, a wobbly head and paper Luigi.
- Colours: pick separate colours for Luigi's cap, shirt, overalls, shoes and Poltergust, or use the outfit presets (Classic, Mario, Wario, Waluigi, Fire Luigi).
- Ghosts: ghost size (all ghosts or Boos only) and a colour shuffle.
- Disco mansion: room lights, ghosts and the light they cast all cycle through colours.
- Also: Luigi's voice pitch, moon gravity for spilled treasure, and confetti bursts with every coin.
Fixed
- Linux with NVIDIA: the picture froze about 20 seconds after start (#2). The music kept playing; on X11 the game crashed instead. The cause was the game's per-frame check of when the GPU finishes a frame, which NVIDIA's Linux driver doesn't cope with. That check is now off on Linux, which also covers frame rates above 30. Frame pacing works the same without it.
- "Keep GPU clocks up in menus" depends on that check, so it is now Windows-only.
- The Steam Deck freeze above 30 fps (#11) looks like the same cause, so it is likely fixed too.
- High frame rates: the Poltergust nozzle no longer jumps. Parts of Luigi's model, the hose and the nozzle were turned around points far away from them between frames. They now turn around their real pivots. In 3-minute heavy-movement tests at 120 fps, the jumps went from hundreds to none.
- High frame rates: Luigi's hair poked through his cap in cutscenes, for example the walk from E. Gadd's lab to the mansion. Every cutscene we could reach was checked at 120 fps.
- Play as Mario crashed in the nursery with "malformed graphics data" (since 1.1.1). The unused-content features shared memory with the game's own system data, so poison, the gallery, the unused ghost placements and the spawn list could also cause random problems. Each now has its own memory again.
- Jukebox (F1 > Sound): every song plays. Mario.com, Room_Baby and Room_Space were silent, and so was any song picked after a streamed one had played. The Toad and light layers also kept playing after Stop. All 80 songs with notes now play, on both discs. Total.com has no notes at all, and the menu now marks it as empty.
- Windows: no console window opens with the game anymore. Everything it printed goes into
last_run.log. To get the window back, start the game with--console.
Known issues
- Steam Deck: please tell us in #11 if the picture still stops above 30 fps.
- The 2-player mode (Unused content) is unfinished.
