Luigi's Mansion Recompiled 1.1.3 adds a menu size option and fixes the Steam Deck freeze above 30 fps and frame-rate drops on some fast PCs. On 1.1 or later, the game offers it in F1 > Game > Updates.
No game data is included. On first start the game asks for your own disc image (ISO/RVZ and other Dolphin formats) of the USA release (GLME01) and/or the European release (GLMP01). Read the README.txt in the package for requirements and details.

New
- Menu size (#20): F1 > Visuals > General > "Menu size" makes the options menu and the game's other on-screen text larger or smaller (75-300%). Text stays sharp at every size. "Auto" (the default) picks a size from your screen: 100% at 1080p, 200% at 4K, and 150% on a Steam Deck. It also follows Windows display scaling. The FPS counter, the F3 overlay, notices and "Preparing shaders" scale with it.
Fixed
- Steam Deck: picture stopped above 30 fps (#11): the game kept running, but the picture stopped updating. In game mode (Gamescope), VSync is now always on. Gamescope already composites every frame, so this adds no tearing difference. Frame pacing also no longer waits on GPU timing reports that may never arrive. If the picture ever stops again,
last_run.logrecords exactly where.- With VSync, the frame rate is the screen's refresh rate or an even fraction of it. On the 90 Hz Steam Deck OLED, 60 fps therefore runs at 45. The game tells you once, and so does F1. For 60 fps, set the refresh rate to 60 Hz in the Quick Access menu (Performance > Refresh rate), or pick 90 fps or "Match display refresh rate". The 60 Hz LCD Steam Deck is not affected.
- Frame-rate drops that lingered (#18): after a short stall, for example another program briefly using the GPU, the frame-rate limiter stayed at the lower rate for about 10 seconds. It now climbs back within a second or two.
- On Intel CPUs with P-cores and E-cores (12th gen and later), the game's time-critical threads now stay on the P-cores, with Windows power throttling off for them.
last_run.loggets a short performance summary every minute. If you still see drops, please attach it to a report.
- VSync at a fixed refresh rate: F1 now says when your chosen frame rate doesn't divide the display's refresh rate evenly. For example, 60 fps on a 144 Hz display with VSync and no G-SYNC/FreeSync runs at 48 fps.
Known issues
- Steam Deck: the freeze fix above couldn't be tested on a real Deck. If the picture still stops, please attach
last_run.logto #11. - The 2-player mode (Unused content) is unfinished.
