Tisty 1.0.0-rc1

The number finally leaves the zeroes behind, and not because the list of features
got long enough. A 1 in something that keeps your work on your own disk is a
promise about the format, not about the feature list: what you have written stays
readable by what comes next. That promise only became possible in 0.13.0, when the
log learned to say whether an entry adds or alters, so a later Tisty can step over
what it does not recognise instead of refusing the whole store. The mechanism to
grow without breaking you is in place. This release is the first that dares to say
so out loud.

The new thing it carries is a door. If you already use an assistant, you are
probably telling it things worth keeping — the school group wants card stock on
Monday, the invoice is due on the 30th — and until now that ended with you typing
it again. Tisty now speaks MCP on your own machine, so an assistant can file the
task for you, with its steps and its date, in the inbox and tagged.

Tisty is still not AI and has none inside it. The natural language that turns
"call the bank at 3" into a task is the same deterministic rules running locally,
and Tisty sends nothing to any model. The door does not change that; it only means
you can open one, and you are the one who opens it. An assistant shows up in
Settings › Agents as a device you have to let in, everything it tries before that
is refused, and letting it in is an event in your log rather than a line in a file
it could edit itself. What it may do is deliberately small: file a task, add to
the journal, write a document, keep a copy of a file you point it at, and read
what is already there. It cannot close or delete anything, cannot reach a task you
hid, cannot take files from outside the folders where a download lands, and cannot
file the same thing twice — the source it came from is checked inside the same
lock that writes, so sixteen assistants told the same thing file one task. What it
reads comes back without the paths of your disk. And whatever it does read, it
takes with it: that is the assistant's doing and your choice, which is exactly why
the door stays shut until you open it, and why closing it is one click.

It is a candidate rather than the release because of the one line the README has
never been able to tick: daily use, which is what turns up the bugs that tests do
not. Everything here has been tested — 1160 of them — and nothing has yet been
lived with for a month. That is what this is for.

Installing it is a manual step, once. A stable copy never walks itself onto a
pre-release, whatever the update feed says, so 0.12 and 0.13 will keep reporting
that they are up to date. Download the installer from this page and run it over
what you have; your store is untouched. From then on your copy is on the candidate
track and the ones after this arrive on their own, the final 1.0.0 included.
