GPS coordinates for photos from cameras that don't record them, either for a whole shoot or per photo from a track recorded on your phone.
Added
- Coordinates for a whole batch. A new GPS row in Batch Context takes latitude and longitude, typed or pasted from a map pin. Or press Look up to find them for the place in Location using OpenStreetMap. The first lookup asks permission, since the place name is sent to an outside service; after that, lookups happen on their own a moment after you finish typing. Locations PhotoScribe fills in from folder names are never looked up automatically.
- Per-photo positions from a GPX track. Record a track on your phone while you shoot (Strava, Gaia GPS, myTracks and Geotag Photos Pro all export GPX), then press Load GPX…. Each photo's capture time is matched to the track and the status line shows how many matched. If you travelled without changing the camera's time zone, set Camera clock to the zone it was on.
- Photos matched to a track also get a place name in their caption and keywords when Look up location from GPS coordinates is ticked.
Coordinates are written when you press Write Metadata to Files, into the photo or its XMP sidecar. A photo that already has GPS keeps its own. The README has the details under Adding GPS to photos from cameras without it.
