What's new in v1.2.1
A reliability release focused on RAW/DNG handling, error messages, and new format support.
HEIC / HEIF support
PhotoScribe now reads HEIC/HEIF photos — the format iPhones shoot by default. Drop them in like any other image.
Better DNG (and RAW) handling
RAW files are now decoded from their embedded preview first, falling back to a full decode only when needed. This fixes DNGs — particularly phone, HDR, and Lightroom-converted DNGs — that previously decoded dark or blank and caused the AI to return nothing. It's also a little faster.
Clearer errors instead of "char 0"
If the model returns an empty or non-JSON response, PhotoScribe now retries once automatically, and if it still fails you get a plain-English message ("the model returned an empty response — try a different model, or increase Keyword density") instead of the cryptic JSON parse error: Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0).
