Livewire 4 support
Livewire Tables now supports Livewire 3 and Livewire 4. Existing class-based table components work with either major version; upgrading this package does not require upgrading Livewire.
- Generate tables through Laravel's generator without relying on removed Livewire console internals, preserving configured namespaces, paths and overwrite protection.
- Preserve blur search/filter timing and correctly handle whole-array and nested filter updates, omitted defaults and external array-filter clearing.
- Keep inherited Alpine scope intact when Livewire 3 removes bulk-selection rows during reordering.
Multiple-table reordering fix
Fixes #2328: dragging or saving rows in one table could affect another table when their default HTML IDs matched. Reordering now resolves the table and its rows within the owning Livewire component, rejects foreign/nested drag targets, and excludes structural rows from the saved order. The fix ships in all three JavaScript providers and their minified assets.
Upgrading
- Update with
composer require rappasoft/laravel-livewire-tables:^3.10 --with-all-dependencies, then runphp artisan optimize:clear. - For an application moving to Livewire 4, follow the Livewire upgrade guide. Livewire 3 remains supported.
- If you published package views or JavaScript, merge the updated files into your overrides, or back up customizations before republishing
livewire-tables-viewsandlivewire-tables-public. Published views need the updated blur bindings; published JavaScript needs the reordering fix. - Keep distinct table names and matching data arrays for independent query strings and persisted state when several tables share a page. Existing table names and HTML IDs remain compatible. See multiple-table guidance.
Validation and demo
- Full compatibility suites pass on Laravel 10–13 with both Livewire majors: 1,557 tests / 5,601 assertions per local combination. The supported PHP/Laravel/Livewire matrix and PHPStan checks also pass on GitHub.
- 42 JavaScript regression cases and 18 Chromium multiple-table scenarios pass across Livewire 3/4 and Tailwind/Bootstrap 4/Bootstrap 5, including native drag/save and database isolation.
- The updated public demo runs Livewire 4.4.7 and passes 42 public Chromium checks across all three themes. Its test suite passes 34 tests / 91 assertions.
Firefox/Safari were not tested. Legacy Laravel 10/11 compatibility does not remove their existing upstream security advisories; the compatibility-CI exceptions do not disable application Composer security checks.
Implemented in #2337.
