Main

• Added ISO injection support, requiring a major rework of RapidOS
• RapidOS now applies to all users: current and future, including non-admins
• Restored Windows 11 24H2 support
• Added a new dark RapidOS theme (new wallpaper); light theme removed
• Playbook installation is now ~1.5x faster and the install process was improved
• Removed restore point creation before RapidOS install
• Disabling UCPD is no longer required, so the system no longer needs pre-install preparation

Applying to all users

• Added a deferred mechanism for applying user settings to all users
• Settings apply not only to the user who installed RapidOS, but also to other existing and future users (with ISO injection)
• Deferred execution works for regular users without admin rights
• For each user, the theme is applied, Start menu and taskbar are configured, classic context menu is enabled, Always on Top for Task Manager is enabled, and selected browsers are installed/configured

Browsers and components

• Updated Chrome, Brave and Firefox settings for better usability
• Updated sources on download.rapid-community.ru
• Improved browser and component install stability
• Added ARM64 support for browser downloads
• Browser installers are now cached in the playbook folder and can be reused during deferred install
• When reinstalling RapidOS, browsers skip downloading if the required installer is already cached in the system
• Fixed an issue where Chrome and Brave profile names turned into unreadable characters after optimization
• Improved Microsoft Edge removal
• Added a warning if the user removes Microsoft Edge without selecting another browser to install

Interface

• Reworked Start menu and taskbar cleanup
• Start menu setup on Windows 11 is now adaptive:
  • Pins Defender if enabled
  • Pins browsers already in the system or/and selected during install (Edge, Brave, Firefox, Thorium, Chrome)
  • Added support for default non-UWP apps on LTSC versions
• Improved Always on Top applying for Task Manager on Windows 10 and 11

Defender

• Reworked DefenderSwitcher
• Improved reliability and application stability
• Added a smart backup system
• Improved full Microsoft Defender disabling:
  • Fixed constant CPU load issues after incorrect Defender disablement
  • Thanks to @dzharic (discord) for testing and help with fixing performance issues

System

• Xbox Game Bar is now fully removed, except on systems with AMD Dual-CCD 3D-Cache CPUs (restore is only possible via Microsoft Store)
• Fixed scheduled tasks disabling
• Disabled audio device power saving (for PCs only)
• Removed Intel TSX enabling
• Disabled Page Combining
• Tweaked power plan settings for better power efficiency
• Improved system stability when grouping services
• Changed MSI Mode and network adapter settings
• Improved OneDrive removal

Updates

• Windows Updates are now paused instead of fully disabled (full disablement is still available through RapidOS Toolbox)
• Disabling Microsoft Store auto-updates is now optional (fixes the issue where placeholder apps on clean Windows could not update due to disabled Store updates)
• Attempted to fix a false positive where RapidOS required a reboot for non-existent pending Windows updates

Fixes

• Fixed disabling the Mark of the Web attribute ("Do not mark downloaded files from the internet as unsafe")
• Fixed an issue where sfc /scannow failed to restore system integrity
• Fixed Google Quick Share

ℹ️ Important information

• A clean reinstall is recommended. Installing over older versions is possible (except v1.0), but see the critical note below
• .NET 3.5 may fail to install with error 0x8000ffff and is now unchecked by default in Select Features
• RapidOS Toolbox will not work correctly for non-admin users due to missing admin rights
