github ramensoftware/windhawk 2.0.0-alpha.8
2.0 alpha 8

pre-release3 hours ago
  • The UI has a refreshed look, with rounder corners and updated colors, shadows, and spacing.
  • The mod source code and changes tabs load quickly, even for large mods. Previously, opening the source code of the largest mods could freeze the UI for several seconds.
  • The settings editor is more responsive for mods with many settings: it opens right away, typing no longer lags, and saving is faster, especially on systems with many running processes.
  • Improved Explore page performance. Previously, the page got progressively slower with each batch of mods loaded while scrolling down. This slowdown is now far less noticeable.
  • Added support for custom UI styles: a windhawk.css file placed in the Windhawk folder, next to windhawk-ui.exe, is applied on top of the built-in styles.
  • Unused versions of debug symbols are now deleted from the symbols folder. Previously, every downloaded version was kept, and the folder could grow to several GB or more. To disable the cleanup, set DisableSymbolsCleanup to 1 in the engine settings (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Windhawk\Engine\Settings, or AppData\Engine\settings.ini in portable mode).
  • Other minor improvements and bug fixes.

Notes

  • Upgrading from version 1.x preserves all of your settings and mods.
  • To run the legacy VSCodium-based UI once, Shift+right-click the Windhawk tray icon and choose the "(legacy UI)" menu item. To always use the legacy UI, set the WINDHAWK_USE_VSCODIUM_UI environment variable to 1. You might need to restart your computer after changing it. This variable will be removed in a future version.
