💬 The Community page — BETA
A game's compatibility is something other people already know, and until now every one of them had to find out alone.
- What other people found, on the games you own. Each game carries the reports left on it: the route used, the rendering API, whether it worked, and the hardware it worked on.
- A thread under any result, with reactions, replies, and
@mentions limited to the people already on that game. Windows tells you when someone answers you or names you; the general comments on a game stay quiet unless you ring its bell. All of it can be switched off in Settings. - What you wrote stays yours. Right-click a game card in Games or in Community, or use the buttons inside a comment, to edit or delete your own report and replies. Delete the last report on a game and the game leaves the Community list with it.
- Signed with a name you choose — a display name and one of twenty-four icons drawn in the app rather than shipped as files, so they take their colour from your theme.
- Every card is lit by the game's own artwork. The poster and the banner together decide the colour of the card, its background and the report dialog, and the change is animated rather than switched.
- Nothing leaves your machine unasked. A report is filled in and sent by hand, its fields shown before it goes. Remove my community activity in Settings withdraws all of it.
🎮 Games it can now find and install into
- Xbox games are found without scanning every drive.
.GamingRootmarkers and the Gaming Services package roots are read directly, junctions are resolved to the writable XboxGames copy, duplicates are matched byMicrosoftGame.configidentity, and a package that only exists under WindowsApps stays visible instead of disappearing. Thanks to @BillyMRX1 (#204). - The overlay installs into protected Xbox executables, using the architecture the scanner already established rather than reopening an encrypted executable. Thanks to @BillyMRX1 (#206).
- A game that ships Windows' own debug helpers is no longer refused.
dbghelp.dllanddbgcore.dllare watched because Ultimate ASI Loader ships under those names — but Cyberpunk 2077 carries both for its own crash reporting, so every OptiScaler install there was refused with "another loader/mod is present". Microsoft's copies say so in their version resource and the loaders do not, so the real ones are let through. (#196)
🔦 When something goes wrong, it now says so
- Antivirus taking the overlay add-on is named. Defender removes it as
Trojan:Win32/Kepavll!rfn— a machine-learning verdict on an unsigned native DLL — and with the file gone the bridge still listened perfectly, so the Overlay page went on saying "ready, waiting for a game" while no game could ever attach. The page now names the missing file and the likely cause first. A file left corrupt rather than deleted counts as missing too. (#197) - The portable build unpacks to a folder an exclusion can name. It used to unpack into
%TEMP%under a name computed from the version, so the path changed with every release and an exclusion set for one build did nothing for the next. It is%TEMP%\DLSS5-Swappernow. (#197) - The reason the overlay was skipped is readable. It was printed as a bare
overlaySkipped {...}code, and the translation written for it would have read "undefined" had it ever been reached. Someone spent a week reinstalling with the answer sitting in that line. (#197) - A failed update check no longer looks like good news. The lookup returns the same thing when it cannot run — offline, rate-limited, blocked — as when the build is current, and the sidebar drew both as "nothing new". The two are separate now: a check that could not run says so, and only silence means the release really is the latest. (#207)
🖥️ The overlay
- The panel can be resized by dragging its corner. It was drawn at 534 pixels whatever the game ran at, which is 14% of the width of a 3840-wide screen and too small to read. The grip sets it between 0.75x and 2.5x and ReShade's own config remembers it per game, since a 4K game and a 1080p one want different sizes. The pixels are still drawn 1:1 with what the app rendered, and pointer coordinates are divided back into panel space, so a click lands where it looks at any size. (#202)
🕹️ Emulators
- dgVoodoo gets enough emulated video memory to finish a frame. It ships 256 MB and enforces it; a DirectX 9 game at a modern resolution exhausts that in seconds,
CreateTexturefails in a loop of hundreds of thousands of identical lines, and the game dies. This app already raised it to 1024, and @tomkolp measured that SWTOR at 2560x1440 needs 4096 to render. The value is a ceiling rather than an allocation, so a generous one costs nothing. (#37)

⚠️ Requirements
- Windows 10/11, 64-bit. RTX 20/30/40/50 series. DX12, DX11 and DX9 titles through the ReShade and Feeder routes; the overlay itself is DX11/DX12 only.
- NVIDIA driver 616.56 is the last one measured to complete a neural pass; 616.64 and newer fault inside NVIDIA's runtime. The app warns rather than blocking.
- OptiScaler's bundled neural model needs a Blackwell card. An older card is not refused — supply a modded
nvngx_dlssnr.dlland the app will keep it. - Anti-cheat protected games may reject add-ons. Restore originals puts a game back exactly as it was.
- The Community page is BETA and opt-in.
