Breaking Changes
- Default build excludes: Projects without a
.dockerignoreor configured excludes now omitnode_modules(Node, Deno) andvenv/.venv(Python) from the build context. (#670)
Providers
New
- Generate: Node, Deno, and Python projects without a
.dockerignoreor configured excludes now get sensible default exclude patterns (node_modulesfor Node and Deno, venvand.venvfor Python) to keep dependencies out of the build context. Your own.dockerignoreorexcludeconfig still takes precedence — add one to customize the defaults. by @iloveitaly in #670 - Ruby: Ruby versions declared in your
Gemfileare now resolved by mise natively instead of railpack's own parsing, and falling back to theGemfile.lockRUBY VERSIONis deprecated with a warning linking to the docs. If you relied on the lockfile version alone, pin Ruby explicitly via.ruby-version,mise.toml, or yourGemfile— see Ruby version resolution for the precedence order. by @iloveitaly in #791
Fixed
- .NET: The start command now uses
<AssemblyName>from the.csprojwhen set, so apps with a custom assembly name start the correct executable. by @Tyagiquamar in #803 - .NET: Assembly-name handling now covers multiple and conditional
<AssemblyName>property groups (last one wins, matching MSBuild) and falls back to the project file name for unevaluatable$(...)expressions. See the .NET docs for how the start command picks the executable name. by @RaphaelFakhri in #802 - Procfile: Procfiles are now parsed line by line instead of as YAML, so commands containing
:or starting with quotes no longer fail plan generation, and multi-process Procfiles withoutweborworkernow fall back to the first process deterministically. by @RaphaelFakhri in #766
Mise Upgrades
Updated mise from v2026.10.8 to v2026.10.14.
- Faster installs, fewer GitHub API calls: Public GitHub metadata now resolves via mise-versions, speeding up installs and avoiding anonymous API rate limits in builds without a token. (v2026.10.11)
- Resilient version lookups: GitHub metadata lookups now retry against
api.github.comwhen mise-versions times out or errors, making tool installs more reliable. (v2026.10.12) - Untrusted project settings ignored:
[settings]in a project'smise.tomlthat can redirect downloads or builds now apply only after trust, closing a supply-chain vector. (v2026.10.13) - Strict tool-option checks: Installs now fail when a tool declares an option its backend doesn't read, so typos surface as errors instead of being silently ignored. (v2026.10.14)
