iCarCast for older iPads 1.0 (15): the same iPad receiver as iCarCast for iPad 1.0 (15), built for iPadOS 12.2 to 14: iPads that can't update to iPadOS 15 (iPad Air 1, iPad mini 2 and 3 on 12.5, and others stuck on 13 or 14).
For iPad only: it's the receiver end. It turns the iPad into the wireless CarPlay screen. It has no Connect and no This iPhone, so it can't send CarPlay. On the iPhone, use iCarCast from TestFlight and tap Connect.
Experimental: not yet tested on a real iPadOS 12-14 device. Please report whether it opens and whether CarPlay works, with your iPad model and iPadOS version. On iPadOS 15 or later, use the regular IPA instead.
On iPadOS 12, the car's browser screen (Settings › Modes) isn't available (it needs iPadOS 13), and some buttons show text instead of icons.
How to use it:
- Sideload
iCarCast-iPad-ios12.2-1.0-15.ipawith AltStore or Sideloadly, which sign it with your own Apple ID (with a free Apple ID, re-sign it every 7 days). - Put the iPhone and the iPad on the same Wi-Fi network: your Wi-Fi at home, a travel router in the car.
- Open CarCast on the iPad. On the iPhone, open iCarCast (TestFlight), tap Connect and pick the iPad.
