This is the fourth minor release in less than a month - lots of work has gone into supporting the development of two other libraries, calendaring and calendaring-sync, plus fixing lots of compatibility problems, mainly reported by users of iCloud. It's not sustainable for me to spend this much time on the caldav library, so I don't expect any more minor releases for at least a month.
Overview
Most of this release is server compatibility work: some two dozen new compatibility features, many of them found by the conformance suites of calendaring and calendaring-sync, each probed by caldav-server-tester (1.8.0 will be released soon), and the server profiles updated to match. Notably, iCloud does not allow search by UID. My aim is to maximize the user experience, which means a best effort at supporting iCloud without making life too hard for others. In the worst case it's necessary to download the whole calendar and find the UID client-side - which can be quite taxing if the calendar is big, or the client system is short on resources or on metered bandwidth.
Also released without the niquests dependency as 3.7.0a0 - install requests (for the sync client) and/or httpx2 (for the async client) alongside it.
