Today marks general stability and availability for the rewrite of Pygmy - amazeeio's very under-rated local development utility. The aims of this project have been met at least initially - and there are good indicators to suggest this is generally a very good project and we're interested in feedback.
The features this project achieves includes:
- Windows support straight up - tested in CI.
- Automated releases produced in CI
- Availability as a single binary (opposed to being a locally interpreted library)
- Configuration from a file (when present) which allows for infinite flexibility with Docker API's - anything can be swapped in/out or disabled completely in favour of new services.
- Direct communication to Docker's API's (without the use of
docker
or similar) - Speed
Pygmy isn't yet aren't available via chocolatey, brew or similar, however we will get there.
Please feel free to contribute, lodge an issue/bug or PR, and please feel free to provide feedback. We are seeking to quantify the merits of this project for future consideration of formal upstream adoption.
