This release corresponds to the 3.40 release of the Windows version.
Although titled "Linux", it would be more accurate to call it "wx", as it's built upon wxWidgets, and has been known to run on some non-Linux platforms.
Note that the change from 0.99 to 1.00 does not signify a major change of any type. This just seemed the least awkward way to move forward, as opposed to 0.991, 0.99.1, etc.
Having said that, the release is stable and quite usable, if a bit less polished than the Windows version.
