- even faster startup. Total BaseOS startup fell from about 5.7 seconds to 4.1 seconds in our RG SP restart tests. Slot's menu appeared about 2 seconds sooner on RG40XX V and RG34XX SP compared with v1.3.0.
- faster frontend loading too, about 0.7 seconds saved for NextUI and 0.3 seconds for Slot.
- fixed a startup race that could make BaseOS pick TF1 before your TF2 card was ready.
- kept gamepad detection working reliably with the faster startup, including for programs that use SDL.
- frontends can now read the BaseOS version and device details directly from their environment.
Update
Copy your model's .bosupd to the root of your frontend card and restart. Your games, saves and settings stay in place.
Keep power connected during this update. BaseOS makes a one-time startup optimisation after installing it. Let it finish without switching off; the faster boot takes effect on your next restart.
For a fresh install, unzip your model's .img.zip and flash the .img to TF1. Flashing erases the card.
For a little more cinematic flair, copy the attached startup_sound.wav to the root of your TF1 BASEOS partition.
