v1.1.0-beta.8
The eighth beta of 1.1. Plugin authors get four new example plugins, a step-by-step
tutorial, per-plugin translations and a way for a plugin to drive its own settings, and
plugin calls to Moonraker now go through the same safety checks as the app's own. The
Creator 5 on Z-Mod can feed a head from the screen, ACE parked slots are drawn at the hub,
OpenAMS units show their own temperature, humidity and dryer, and a K2 chamber target that
matches the resting value now displays instead of vanishing.
Upgrading from beta.7?
- Plugin authors: a translation pack can no longer replace a string the app already
translates, and a pack that declaresenis skipped (the English text is the tag). An
edited pack takes effect on the next app start. - Creator 5 on Z-Mod: Unload shows a cut-and-pull notice instead of running. Mounting a
head without feeding is Select slot in the slot menu.
Added
Plugins
- Four new example plugins and a build tutorial - Maintenance Meter (consumable hour
meters on a Home tile, with confirm-guarded resets), Print Watcher (print start, finish and
failure notifications to ntfy, Discord, Telegram or a webhook), Ambient Tile (room
conditions from Home Assistant or any JSON endpoint, with a sparkline) and Calibration
Bridge, a proof of concept for a slicer calibration companion that asks you to pick a
result on screen. A step-by-step plugin tutorial walks through building the first one.
Plugins can be shared in the Discord #plugin-showcase channel (#1771). - Plugin translations - a plugin can ship an
i18n/folder with translation packs, and
its manifest text, XML labels and Lua code (helix.i18n) follow the app language. A pack
only supplies words the app does not already translate, so a plugin cannot change the
app's own labels; English packs are refused and a pack over 256 KiB is skipped. An edited
pack needs an app restart. - Plugins can drive their own settings -
helix.settings.setlets a plugin's own screen
act as the control surface for the settings it declares. The generated settings screen
stays in step, and setting a key to the value it already holds saves nothing.
Filament systems
- Z-Mod on the FlashForge Creator 5 (#1779) - Load on a head now feeds that head through
Z-Mod's afclite shim (CHANGE_TOOL LANE=E<n>), heating only that head. The Creator 5 has
no automatic unload, so Unload shows a notice telling you to cut and pull the filament at
the head and sends nothing. The firmware's tool-state query is read at connect, a docked
head without filament shows as Empty, and a fault from the shim opens a dialog in the
firmware's own words. - ACE parked slots (#1678) - on a Kobra S1 an idle slot the driver reports as parked is
drawn staged at the hub instead of on its spool. - OpenAMS temperature, humidity and dryer - each unit shows its own temperature and
humidity, and the dryer can be started and stopped per unit from the environment screen.
A running dryer stays stoppable. - OpenAMS fault recovery - a latched stop or pause fault on a unit puts the system in an
error state, marks the unit's slots and opens the recovery dialog, translated. Reset and
the dialog clear the fault on each unit that offers it. The FPS pressure sensor is drawn as
a one-sided gauge. - Unit view pages through the units - on the AMS overview, tapping a unit card zooms into
that unit with arrows, swipe and page dots, and dashed stubs show the rest of its hub. The
overview draws units, hub, buffer and toolhead for every printer, and up to 16 units.
Fixed
Plugins
- Plugin Moonraker calls get the app's safety checks - a plugin with write access could
start a print while the spool latch was up, or with an unsafe path, and could send restarts
and G-code the app itself refuses. Plugin calls now get the same refusals as the app's own. - Plugin runtime - a plugin's settings save no longer counts against its time budget, a
language-change handler can register another handler, and a plugin drawing at its memory
cap no longer gets disabled on its next start. - Example plugin fixes - Maintenance Meter counts a print already running when it loads
and stops counting while offline. Print Watcher never shows the destination's secret, and
ignores boot-time states. Ambient Tile masks credentials, shows dashes for missing
readings and skips overlapping polls. Calibration Bridge keeps its picker on screen when a new calibration
arrives, asks before Cancel stops a print, and only resets once the cancel succeeds.
Filament systems
- Creator 5 Pro on Z-Mod - the printer no longer gets the wrong filament system (which
sent macros the firmware does not have), the swap steps read as Pick up tool and Dock
tool, and the debug bundle names the board. A four-head FlashForge with no recognised
firmware is no longer named an AD5X. - ACE (#1678, #1679) - a paused failed feed is no longer drawn loaded to the nozzle, a
seated tool reads as loaded at the nozzle once the toolhead sensor is made, Endless Spool
mode changes made at runtime reach the screen, and the tip-handling step label follows the
language. - OpenAMS - units on one lane share a hub and toolhead, unload no longer refuses with
several lanes loaded, a spool link written by openams_spoolman after an edit here wins over
it, and extra slots in a filament group show as endless-spool backups instead of the tool.
Loading a backup slot loads that slot. Unit fault descriptions are translated. - AMS overview - hub boxes no longer overlap, units past the eighth keep their hub and
buffer, a unit with no logo shows none, and a ninth unit shows its own humidity. - CFS auto-refill - the toggle sends the setter the fork's firmware accepts, only counts
as sent once Klipper completes it, and endless spool no longer reads Off after boot.
Temperatures
- Chamber target equal to the resting value on K2 - a deliberate chamber target such as
35 no longer vanishes; the number displays with an Auto indicator, and the print status
screen shows chamber status for these targets too. The chamber card also uses the bed
card's large header when it has no diagnostics rows. - Cool Down on toolchangers (#1768) - turns off every extruder heater, and the chamber
heater, instead of leaving the active tool at its target while the toast said heaters off.
Updates
- Update refusals say why (#1778) - a full root overlay now shows the first real error
instead of its closing advice, and the app refuses before downloading ~60 MB it cannot
install.
Stability and speed
- Crashes after leaving Print Files and Print Status - several screens could touch widgets
freed after a deleted view, including the file detail view, its thumbnail after Back, the
exclude-object viewer, the clog bar and fan dial, and the print-prep option count. - Sound - the tracker no longer gets freed mid-tick, and a tick callback cannot deadlock
the sequencer. - Faster AMS screens - the unit view and filament path read the system once per refresh.
- Faster screen switches and Print Files on ESP32 - Print Files builds at the first idle
moment after connect, the new screen shows before it activates, the file detail view shows
its thumbnail, and the first Moonraker connect waits for the boot Wi-Fi thread to exit.
