v1.0.8
1.0.8 is a maintenance release of fixes ported from 1.1. The main themes:
- Long print starts. A printer that takes a long time to answer a print start no longer has its job marked failed while it keeps printing.
- Filament handling on specific printers. Snapmaker U1 loads, purging on the AD5X and toolchanger remaps.
- Network status that tells the truth. Unplugged Ethernet, missing WiFi addresses and hidden networks.
Fixed
Printing
- Leaving the heater calibration screen no longer stops a print - if that screen was stuck on a running calibration, leaving it during a print turned the heaters off and could end the print. It now leaves the heaters and part fan alone while a print is running.
- A slow print start stays preparing (#1898) - a printer that runs a long start sequence before answering no longer has the job marked failed while it carries on. Stop can still cancel it.
- Z-hops no longer bump the layer count - when the slicer reports no layers, a hop over thin layers read as several layers up on every travel move.
- Very large layers draw in the G-code preview - a layer bigger than the cache budget was refused and re-parsed on every frame, which made the screen crawl on a CC1 with a large multiboard print.
Filament
- Filament slots keep their details when Moonraker is slow to answer (#2008) - if the printer's saved lane records could not be read within 5 seconds of connecting, HelixScreen could overwrite them with what the firmware reports. It now waits until it has read them.
- Snapmaker U1 loads (#1832) - the U1 homes and heats for its own loads, so HelixScreen no longer preheats first, and a load or unload the printer declines now raises an error for that lane.
- AD5X with zMod purges over the bin - Purge used to extrude wherever the nozzle was. It now goes to the bin first, and a Forge-X AD5X is unchanged.
- A purge that timed out does not run late - a slow home no longer times out the purge on screen and then runs it anyway, and a purge that failed on the way to the bin stays cancelled.
- Remaps go to the right filament system - with two systems attached, picking a slot on one could rewrite the same-numbered slot on the other.
- Toolchanger remaps work -
ASSIGN_TOOLnow names the tool the way klipper-toolchanger expects, so remaps are no longer refused.
Printers
- MPC calibration finishes on Kalico - Kalico sends its whole MPC result as one message, so the calibration screen never saw it finish.
- Centauri Carbon Bed Screws (#2001) - it now uses Klipper's own calculation rather than COSMOS's Manual Leveling prompt, which gave advice like two turns on every corner of a nearly level bed. A prompt line can no longer add a false fifth screw, and quick-action Bed Screws and Bed Mesh buttons no longer fail with "Invalid macro name".
- RustiCC on the CC1 (#2001) - HelixScreen recognizes it as the printer's control software and runs with the right priority beside it.
- K1 with the Guilouz Helper Script (#1894) - the installer no longer mistakes these printers for Simple AF, so it records the stock screen software it disables and uninstall can restore it.
- K2 hotend fans - these fans run with the heater, so Fan Control shows them without a dial and never sends them a speed.
Startup
- Moonraker stays responsive on a large config folder - finding
PRINT_STARTat each connect walked the whole config folder. It now lists only the folders your includes name.
Network
- Unplugged Ethernet reads No cable - a pulled cable left the port showing Connected with its old address.
- WiFi shows its address - some printers showed Connected with no IP. The address now comes from the system when WiFi does not report it.
- Hidden networks stay out of the list - they appeared as a row of
\x00text in the network picker.
Interface
- No camera row where there is no camera view (#1993) - on K1, K2, AD5M, CC1 and U1 builds, a webcam in Moonraker left a Settings row that opened nothing.
- Thermistor carousel fills in - a home widget created before sensors were discovered stayed empty.
- Plugin install result icon - the result screen shows its icon correctly.
Stability
- More crashes leave a report - a crash from an illegal instruction, trap or bad system call now writes a crash file.
- Color picker and dialog crashes (#1836) - a color picker or dialog destroyed while open could crash the next one shown, and each close of the color picker leaked memory.
- Print start collector (#1875) - fixed a crash risk from the collector being destroyed off the UI thread.
