v1.0.7
1.0.7 is a maintenance release of fixes ported from 1.1. The main themes:
- Stopping a print that is still preparing. Stop during heating, homing or probing
now cancels the print on the printer instead of only on the screen. - Filament mapping that follows your printer. A print you did not remap keeps the
lane mapping your filament system already has, and print start changes the mapping only
for a pick you made. - Fixes on specific printers. AD5X IFS unloads, Z-Mod, the Creality CC1, the QIDI Q2,
K2 updates and screws tilt.
Fixed
Printing
- Stop during preparing cancels the print (#1890) - tapping Stop while the printer was
still heating, homing or probing turned the heaters off but left the print running. The
printer now gets the cancel once it has accepted the start. - No timeout over a print that started (#1451) - a print-start macro that heats a cold
machine before answering no longer shows a start timeout while the print runs, and a slow
answer can no longer start the same print twice. - Z-Mod's material prompt is not a started print - on an AD5X with Z-Mod, the status
card no longer goes idle while Z-Mod's material picker is still open. - Chamber presets heat - where the chamber macro uses M141 only for an exhaust fan, the
presets now set the chamber heater itself.
Filament systems
- AD5X IFS: Unload picks the loaded lane (#1897) - after a restart, Unload could target
a lane remembered from earlier instead of the one the IFS module reports loaded. Unloading
a loaded lane with no material set now heats the nozzle first. - An unremapped print keeps your printer's lane mapping - on AFC, Happy Hare and CFS, a
tool you had moved to another lane on the printer was moved back at print start, and the
pre-print check could call its lane empty. Print start now changes the mapping only for a
lane you picked, or a match from auto color mapping. - Z-Mod on AD5X: no remap error on every print - Z-Mod maps tools in its own material
prompt, and HelixScreen no longer tries to as well. - Load and swap home the printer without asking - a filament load or swap on an unhomed
printer homes and goes ahead, instead of waiting on a question while the time limit ran. - Spoolman - reloading the same spool is tracked again for the next print, the spool
picker on a remapped lane shows that lane's own spool, Spoolman features turn on when
Spoolman starts after Moonraker (seen on the CC1), and an unlinked external spool keeps
its entry.
Screws tilt
- Tighten or Loosen, correctly - the word now comes from each corner's measured height,
so it no longer contradicts the arrow, and the arrows show the same direction as Klipper's
console. Every probe homes first, so a re-probe after turning a screw measures against a
fresh reference.
Screen and controls
- USB drives appear when plugged in (#1924) - a drive inserted while HelixScreen runs
shows the USB tab within a second, including FAT drives with short 8.3 file names. - Crashes on 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS (#1601) - closing a screen from one of its own
buttons could crash on 32-bit Pi builds. - One-line text fields on large screens no longer bounce while you type.
- Label printer settings pick and show the right printer, and the address fields fit
the row. - Settings rows with a dropdown and no description center their label.
- The Documentation QR codes open pages that exist.
Power and network
- Reboot and Shut Down on the Creality CC1 and other hosts without systemd (#1869) -
they work from the screen, and the last frame no longer shows on the next boot. - Wi-Fi on the QIDI Q2 - turning Wi-Fi back on no longer snaps the switch off.
- Wi-Fi permission problems are reported as permission problems, instead of
"WiFi system not ready".
Updates and installing
- K2 self-updates on a full storage overlay keep the boot entry and the service script
intact. - QIDI Q2 install keeps makerbase-tuning running (#1854) when it stops the stock screen.
- The docs' one-line installer points at https://releases.helixscreen.org/install.sh.
Android
- https cameras (#1891) - cameras with https snapshot or stream addresses are found and
shown, and the QR scanner says why when a camera fails instead of spinning. - Screensaver crash (#1591) - the starfield and pipes screensavers no longer crash at
some window widths. - Telemetry and crash reports name the platform as Android instead of Raspberry Pi.
