Sharper fleet trails. With the all-aircraft trails toggle on, each plane's trail now hugs its real path more closely — turns, holds and approach curves keep their shape instead of being rounded off, while long straight cruise legs stay light. Trails can also carry more points than before, so a busy sky reads crisper without slowing the map down.
Behind the scenes
The server seed (/api/live/trails) previously thinned each track with a blind even-stride sampler, which spends its point budget uniformly — keeping redundant points down the straights and dropping the very corner fixes that define a turn. It now uses Douglas-Peucker simplification: endpoints are always kept and interior fixes survive only where dropping them would move the line past a ~100 m tolerance (cosine-latitude scaled, so the tolerance is true ground distance), so the point budget lands where the path actually bends. A higher hard cap (150) still backstops a pathologically wandering track, and the client's rolling per-trail cap was raised to match.
