Download

PS5-ECAM-v5.1.0.zip (75.0 MB), on the releases branch.

SHA-256: c6a0c0b50617d923a5e7a5cb37d799c746118342cd850d5bca634c3670a6562f

From 3.0.0 or later, the app offers this update itself as it starts (Settings > Online > PS5-ECAM updates checks again). Otherwise extract the ZIP and copy the PPSA99360 folder to /data/homebrew/PPSA99360, replacing the old one. Your settings, saves and games stay where they are.

What's new

A folder for each system

  • New installs keep each system's files in a folder of its own: /data/cemu, /data/azahar, /data/melonds and /data/eden, each with its own games, updates, DLC, keys and firmware or BIOS folders. The launcher's settings, logs, covers and downloads stay in /data/ps5cemu. This is JMUtechnologies's work.
  • An install from before keeps working where it is. At a start the app offers to Reorganize (or Later), and Settings > Game files > A folder for each system does it at any time. The app starts again and renames the files into their folders, so it takes a moment whatever their size and copies or deletes nothing. A move cut short by a power cut finishes at the next start, and the same row puts everything back. Your games folder settings, Cemu's game folders and home screen tiles follow the files. It works on a PS5 without a HEN too. System folders has the details.

Everything on your USB drive

  • With the app on a USB drive or the extended storage, every system's files go beside it there, the Switch's too (its keys, firmware, updates, saves and shader cache). Switch keys and saves already on the console stay in use.
  • An older copy of the app left in /data/homebrew is no longer started after a game, or updated, in place of the one you run.

Switch

  • Updates and DLC are found wherever they are: in any games folder (a USB drive's too), and loose beside a game. A game's page and Recently played show its update's version ("Update v1.2.0") and how many DLC it has.
  • Frame generation with Lossless Scaling (#81): with your own Lossless.dll (from the Lossless Scaling you bought) in /data/eden/user/lossless, the Switch's frame generation is Lossless Scaling's, steadier and with fewer artefacts on grass and water. Without it, it's MihawkGen's as before. boot.log says which.
  • From JMUtechnologies (#86): each game's mods and cheats, with a switch each; Eden's ReShade presets for the side or one game; Eden's players (choose, create, rename and remove); and a game's save copied to a USB drive and back, as a plain folder or Ryujinx's. Saves is in a game's Options menu too.
  • A game with a mods folder starts (#77), such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with its Booster Course. This is upstream ProsperoEden's PR #288 by Oliv3rmoon.
  • More fixes from ProsperoEden's open pull requests: a game with several updates beside it takes the newest (#287, Oliv3rmoon); a full audio buffer drops old audio instead of stopping the game (#289, Oliv3rmoon); and games made of several programs, such as Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, go from their launcher to the game (#298, Holland-exe).
  • A shader the driver refuses no longer crashes the game. This came from a crash report of This War of Mine.
  • ProsperoEden's own launcher never opens from the app, and its 26 MB of menus are out of the ZIP.

Updates in a minute (#78, #73, #72)

  • Check for updates answers at once, and an update installs in about a minute. dolphin78 found why an update took 20 to 30 minutes: each request then waited for GitHub to drop its idle connection. Every request now asks for the connection to be closed (his fix: 74 s on his console).
  • The update's files are unpacked and moved four at a time. A download can be cancelled with Circle, and one that stalls fails instead of hanging. The restart after an update works the way the library's does, and if the old version starts again, the app says so instead of offering the same update again.
  • Every network call (updates, graphic packs, box art, RetroAchievements, rooms, shares) gives the PS5's name lookup 2 s a try, three tries (#73).

Library and launcher

  • One layout, with Light by default: Recently played as a row of box art, then every game as a list. The themes are skins over it: Light, Link Jack, Classic (3.0), Midnight and Eden. The library's filters are optional, and off by default.
  • Hide from the Library in a game's Options, and Surprise me in Sort to pick a game for you.
  • Play time: each game's time, and Settings > Play time with each side's time and the ten most played games.
  • 3DS and DS games come back to the library without the app starting over.
  • Library and Settings sit at the bar's right, beside the players and the clock.
  • The app is smaller (#74): the Wii U's community graphic packs are no longer in the ZIP. The first time Cemu starts without them, it downloads the latest in the background. Packs you copied in by hand are left alone.
  • Network shares are looked through only when you ask (#75): each side shows the list from its last look until Settings > Game files > Look for games now. Look on network shares at every start brings the old way back.
  • Azahar's compressed 3DS files (.zcci, .zcxi, .z3dsx and .zcia) show with their names, icons and box art, and .zcia installs as a .cia does.
  • No more lines crossing the screen (#72) and no stripes on empty screens (#76): the backdrop's grain holds still. The dark gradients have no bands, and Terminal's scanlines are crisp without the flicker.

Settings

  • Fewer pages down the left: each side's list fits without scrolling (the Switch's 16 pages are 12), and related rows sit behind one row (›). Every setting is kept.
  • One label size in each list (#79, #76), so a Russian or Ukrainian page no longer has rows of different sizes.

Remove its update or DLC

  • In a Wii U game's Options (what's installed in mlc01, #58) and a 3DS game's (#80): pick the update, the DLC or both. Install a CIA file puts a 3DS one back.

3DS and DS

  • Screen gap: the two screens held apart, as the console's hinge holds them (Settings > Screens, or a quick action in the in-game menu).
  • DS: the right stick as the stylus (Settings > Screens > Touch, off by default), for games like Metroid Prime Hunters.
  • DS, from JMUtechnologies (#86): a GBA game in Slot-2 for Pal Park, the microphone as noise, silence or a recorded WAV, and touch calibration for each game.
  • The DS's screens are centred to the pixel.

Wii U

  • Each player's light bar has its own colour (blue, red, green and pink, as the PS5 lights them), so four players can tell who is who.
  • A renamed account's new name is the one games show.
  • A game the library leaves out now says why in Cemu's log (missing files, no disc key, folders named in capitals).

Other

  • Swedish reviewed by yeager (Daniel Nylander) (#83, #85), and every new text in all of the app's languages.
  • A start no longer waits the HEN's full 3 s when it has what it needs, and the boot log times each wait.
  • Performance tools for comparing captures, for developers (#84, JMUtechnologies).

Notes

  • Updating from 5.0.1 inside the app uses 5.0.1's updater, which can sit at "0 of 0 MB" for many minutes before it goes on (#78). Let it run, or copy the folder by hand. Updates from 5.1.0 on take about a minute.
  • With an install from before, the first start offers Reorganize. Later keeps everything where it is. Before you Go back to an earlier version, put the folders back from the same row.
  • Report problems with the logs from Settings > Diagnostics > Copy logs to USB. Known issues are in the guide.
