v0.14 brings back the player from the original Orivio for movies and shows, keeping the best parts of the v0.13 player. Navigation is smoother: you can swipe through Home and Detail pages, rows glide instead of flickering, and Up no longer gets stuck. It also fixes more grey screens and the link list running off the screen. Full breakdown below.
🎬 The classic player is back
- Movies, shows, Plex / Jellyfin and Debrid Cloud files play in the original Orivio player again: its controls, info panel, track pickers and playback engines.
- Kept from v0.13:
- the Skip Intro button
- the Up Next card with its countdown
- the "+10s / −10s" readout on the side of the screen when you click left or right
- the look of the cache bar
- New Sources list inside the player. It looks like the link list you pick from before playing:
- add-on filter chips at the top
- links grouped by add-on and resolution
- a Playing tag on the current link
- it opens at the top of the list
- Live TV keeps the v0.13 player, so channel up/down, the Channels list and Start Over all still work.
🧭 Smoother navigation
- Swiping works. Swipe up and down on the remote's touch surface to move between rows on Home, Movies and TV Shows, and between the top and the rows of a Detail page. Before, only clicks moved between rows there.
- Rows glide. Moving between rows on Home, the row you leave slides away under the title area instead of fading out over it, and the row above no longer pops back in at full brightness.
- Detail pages: the title and description get out of the way before the rows rise, so nothing is drawn on top of anything else.
- Back to the top banner on Home: its artwork comes back right away instead of the previous row's art lingering for two seconds.
- Up no longer gets stuck between Home rows when you press quickly.
- Left opens the side menu on Movies and TV Shows right after you switch to them.
🖥️ Fewer grey screens
- Leaving the player now waits until your TV has finished switching back from the movie's frame rate or HDR mode before closing. Most TVs take a few seconds; closing (or starting the next title) part-way through the switch could leave the TV grey.
- Full-screen trailers no longer switch your TV's display mode (that was two extra switches per trailer).
🔗 Link list
- Links no longer run off the right edge. A wide backdrop or a link with lots of badges could push the list sideways and cut off its right half.
- The list opens with the first link selected, so Down and Select work straight away.
