Orivio TV v0.13 — rebuilt: fast on every Apple TV, Live TV guide, link badges, working trailers

Orivio, rebuilt. v0.13 is a new version of the app, made to be fast on every Apple TV, including the Apple TV HD and the first Apple TV 4K. It adds a full Live TV guide, a new side menu, link badges, trailers that work again, and display switching that follows Match Content properly. Full breakdown below.

Warning

v0.13 is a full rebuild of the app. Because it's brand new under the hood, installing it over your current Orivio may not work cleanly. If you run into problems, delete the old Orivio from your Apple TV and install v0.13 fresh. Sign in to your Orivio account afterwards, and your library, progress, add-ons, profiles and badge pack sync back.

⚡ Fast on older Apple TVs

Everything was measured and tuned on a first-generation Apple TV 4K, with a lighter mode for the Apple TV HD.

  • Home scrolls smoothly. Moving left and right along a row no longer stutters at all, and moving up and down between rows is several times lighter than before.
  • Flipping between movies and shows on a Detail page is smooth. The titles either side are prepared in the background, so a flip just slides the next page in.
  • The Detail page's lower sections (trailers, cast, related, more info) load a row at a time once you stop on a title, instead of freezing the screen all at once.
  • Faster start-up, and much less work in the background while you browse.

🧭 New side menu

  • The tabs stay put when it opens. The panel grows around them, showing the tab names and your profile at the top.
  • More solid, open or closed, so it's easy to read over bright artwork.
  • New: Settings → Appearance → "Hide side rail when closed." Pages use the full width of the screen. Press Left at the edge, or Back, to bring the menu up.
  • It no longer starts opening by itself when you open or close a title, press Play, open the link list, or start something from Continue Watching.
  • Three navigation styles to choose from: side rail, sidebar or top bar.

📺 Live TV

  • A full TV guide (EPG) for your IPTV provider: a timeline grid, day jumps, favourite channels, guide search and reminders for upcoming shows.
  • Catch-up: watch shows that already aired, on channels whose provider keeps an archive.
  • Live channels on Home, plus a live preview of the selected channel.

🔗 Link list

  • Real resolutions instead of "SD". Each link shows the resolution it actually has (4K, 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576p, 480p, 480i…). Names some add-ons split across lines ("[10-" / "80p]") are put back together, so those links also sort under the right resolution.
  • Full link names. Turn on Settings → Home & Layout → "Full stream names" to see each link's complete release name instead of one cut-off line.
  • New: link badges. Badger badge packs (nintle.github.io/Badger) tag every link with chips like 4K, Remux, Dolby Vision, 10-bit, HEVC and DTS-HD MA.
    • A pack you already set up in another Orivio app comes across from your Orivio account automatically.
    • Or import one from a link in Settings → Home & Layout → Link badges, where you can also change the badge size.

🎬 Trailers work again

YouTube stopped answering the app's trailer lookups, so trailers failed or took 10–15 seconds.

  • Trailers now load through a backup lookup and stream from the first second.
  • A trailer starts as soon as your "Auto-play trailer on Detail" delay is up. The lookup happens during the wait, and titles you're about to open are looked up in advance.
  • Trailers and backdrops with black cinema bars built into the picture are zoomed to fill the screen.

🖥️ Match Content done right

  • No more grey screen when a movie starts. When your Apple TV switches frame rate or HDR / Dolby Vision mode, the picture now waits until the TV says the switch is finished. Before, a switch that only changed HDR mode could get the picture too early and leave the TV grey.
  • .mp4 and other files played by the built-in player now switch too. They used to always play in whatever mode the menus were in.
  • It follows your Settings → Video and Audio → Match Content choices on the Apple TV.

🔧 Also

  • Profile pictures from your Orivio account everywhere, including the Settings account card and the profile list.
  • Pages and buttons no longer flash faint copies of other rows or posters on the TV.
  • Fixed: the Live TV guide's "now" line could freeze while you browsed.
  • Fixed: SIMKL watch dates were sometimes recorded as "now".

Which IPA?

  • OrivioTV-V0.13.Sideloadly.ipa: replaces your current Orivio (it keeps the historical bundle id). Because v0.13 is a full rebuild, if the update doesn't work cleanly, delete the old Orivio first and then install this one. Sign in to your Orivio account afterwards and everything syncs back.
  • OrivioTV-V0.13.Sideload.ipa: installs alongside as a separate app with its own data, if you'd like to try v0.13 next to your current version first.

Both are the same build, and both get re-signed by Sideloadly / AltStore with your own Apple ID.
