Subtitles that fit the screen, trailers that actually start, a cache that doesn't freeze on one stuck connection, and an IPTV login that works with more providers. Full breakdown below.
💬 Subtitles
- Embedded Blu-ray / DVD subtitles are the right size. Image-based subtitles (PGS, the kind on most remuxes) were being stretched across the whole screen. They're now drawn at the size and position they were authored at, on every player engine.
- New: Settings → Playback → "Prefer add-on subtitles." Turn it on and the app picks your subtitle add-on's track (SubMaker, OpenSubtitles…) over the file's own track in the same language. Captions come on a moment later while the add-ons answer.
🎬 Trailers that load
YouTube stopped serving combined video+audio files, so every trailer had to download its entire video file before playing. That took 10+ seconds, and the Home hero gave up first. Trailers now stream from the first second (about 0.4s to start in testing). Trailers also show up for viewers with a non-English language set.
⚡ Smoother playback
- No more freeze, judder, then the cache bar jumping ahead. When the one download connection the player is waiting on goes quiet, it's re-opened on a fresh connection within seconds instead of waiting 30.
- Coming back after a long sleep works. Expired TorBox links (which answer with an unusual error) are refreshed instead of knocking the movie off its source, losing Dolby Vision and starting to play on its own.
- No more source blacklist. A source that failed once is no longer quietly excluded from auto-select forever.
- Pause works on the first press. Presses that landed while the controls were appearing were being dropped.
- Scrub previews while fine-tuning fill in even where the cache hasn't reached yet.
- No duplicate chunk downloads after a connection retry.
📺 IPTV login, take two
The provider login now signs in the same way other IPTV apps do (the Xtream Codes API), and only falls back to the playlist download. Providers that turned off their playlist download — or whose playlist was too big to load — work now.
🏠 Home, Detail & Search
- Search results show up as soon as the first add-on answers, instead of waiting for the slowest one, and titles named exactly what you typed come first.
- New: Settings → Layout → "Upcoming episode countdown." A small "5d" badge on Continue Watching cards when a show's next episode hasn't aired yet. Off by default.
- Episode cards never stay blank. Unaired episodes fall back to the show's artwork.
- Up Next rows from add-ons (SIMKL / Trakt up-next catalogs) now open with cast, trailer and recommendations.
- Top Shelf updates when your Continue Watching changes.
- Home uses far less memory with add-ons that send huge catalogs.
🔧 Fixes
- AllDebrid: uncached torrents the app checked no longer pile up as downloads in your AllDebrid account.
- Focus no longer gets stuck on a card while scrolling past collection folders.
- Diagnostics logs no longer contain your Plex / Jellyfin / TMDB keys.
Which IPA?
OrivioTV-V0.12.Sideloadly.ipa: for updating an existing sideloaded Orivio. It keeps the historical bundle id, so it replaces your install in place and keeps your library, progress, add-ons and profiles.OrivioTV-V0.12.Sideload.ipa: installs alongside as a separate app with its own data.
Both are the same build and both get re-signed by Sideloadly / AltStore with your own Apple ID.
