Upgrade Notes

The Cyberpunk variant has a new look, no longer based on the video game Cyberpunk 2077 (see the Cyberpunk Theme Variant post). If your site, or some of its pages, use variant: cyberpunk, check the following. The upgrade guide has the steps.

• Logo: the navbar and the footer of the variant are dark now, so it shows the dark logo: the image set in logo_dark, or /img/logo-dark.svg when logo is the theme's own logo. If you use your own logo image, set a version for dark backgrounds in logo_dark 9034563
• Font: code uses JetBrains Mono instead of Roboto Mono. If you set your own web font CDN, make sure it provides this font 9034563
• Code colors: code blocks are colored with the palette of the variant, whatever the theme set in article.highlight.theme 9034563
• Removed: source/img/razor-top-black.svg and source/img/razor-bottom-black.svg, the edges of the former navbar and footer. If you use them elsewhere, copy them from 6.4.1 into the source directory of your site 9034563
• source/css/cyberpunk.styl is rewritten. If you customized it, apply your changes to the new file again. Its colors are now variables at the top of the file
• Customized copies of layout/common/navbar.jsx and layout/common/footer.jsx: they show the logo for the appearance given by the new getLogoAppearance function of include/util/appearance.js, which is dark for the Cyberpunk variant 9034563
• The theme configuration file does not change: its version is still 5.1.0, with no new options

• Cyberpunk variant redesign: a city at night, lit by neon signs, with the yellow, cyan and red of the first variant and its chamfered panels #1397
  • A dark background with magenta and cyan glows over a faint grid, and scanlines drawn into the backgrounds of the page, the panels, the navbar and the footer, not over images and text 9034563 3dc4ad8 586819e 7873e62
  • A dark navbar and footer, edged with a neon tube. The current page glows in yellow, and the footer has a moving perspective grid running to the horizon 9034563 6bc1000

  • Code blocks look like terminal windows. {% message %} blocks are dark readouts with an edge and a title in their color, and the current tab of a {% tabs %} toggle is cyan 9034563 6bc1000
  • Tags, the numbers of the widgets, pagination and the tags of a post are one kind of chamfered, outlined box, closed along the cut at any pixel ratio 6e9f0f1 7873e62

  • Animations stop for visitors who prefer reduced motion 9034563

Improvements

• PJAX works on sites with relative_link: true: the scripts and stylesheets of a page switched to are loaded from its own URL, and the theme stylesheets are no longer replaced on every switch between pages at different depths 4514944 #1398
• The README no longer refers to Cyberpunk 2077
