v1.9.3-237
Beta 5
Scan Series
- Upcoming Releases is now Scan Series: a quick scan for upcoming books, or a deep scan that also finds missing books across every series
- Scans learn which series are finished and skip them, so repeat scans take a fraction of the time
- Get a notification the day a tracked book releases
- Long-press to select several books and request or remove them together
- Link a series by pasting its Audible ASIN when it can't be matched, and a scan report shows what was checked, skipped, or unmatched
- The skipped list opens its actions with a tap and supports multi-select
- Series scanning now works for Audible regions the metadata service doesn't cover, by falling back to the US catalog
Cross-device sync
- Progress made on other devices catches up when you come back to the app, even for events missed while it was in the background
- The paused player follows along too, so the card and resume point match where you left off elsewhere
- Books finished on another device leave Absorbing right away
- Progress reaches the server every 20 seconds instead of every minute
New
- Cover size setting: small, medium, or large covers across the library, with tablets scaling to match and labels growing with the covers
- Sort podcast episodes by publish date, title, season, episode number, or file name, in either direction
- Reset or extend the sleep timer with a headphone button press during the wind-down
- French language option, plus the latest community translations
- Remove a book's cover and leave it with none
- Pick several books on home or in the library and quick match, mark, or delete them at once
- Admin: scan schedules, metadata source ordering, a server logs screen, and podcast episode limits
- Admin: every Audible region can be picked as a library's metadata provider, plus custom providers from your server
Improved
- The generated title card shows on the home shelves and no longer gets cut off on small covers
- Bookmark, history, and chapter times show at your playback speed
- Progress numbers stay readable on tinted home cards
Fix
- A book's percentage on the server no longer drifts away from your actual listening position
- Now Playing no longer sticks on the last chapter when rereading a finished book
- Streams no longer cut out for a few seconds every hour
- A stuck player no longer banks hours you never listened or drags your place in a book backwards
- Chromecast reconnects after a background drop instead of dying for good
- The companion ebook downloads with the audiobook, so Read works offline
