Null reference fix in data adapters

The primary feature of this release is that it fixes an exception that would occur if you updated a database record and set one of its values to null. The exception would only occur in SQLite, but it's a general fix for all data adapters. In addition, we've started the work on a better and more resilient plugins section. The last parts is not yet done, but only there for illustration purposes still.
