This release opens documents faster, adds task checkboxes in Edit Mode and optional paragraph wrapping, and improves editing and navigation.
Added
- Task checkboxes work in Edit Mode. Task markers become clickable checkboxes while typing, with muted strikethrough for completed tasks. Enter continues with an unchecked task; Enter on an empty task exits the list and preserves the blank separator (#457).
- Choose how source line breaks appear in reading previews. Enable Settings → General → Reading → Strict line breaks to flow ordinary source newlines into paragraphs in the app and Quick Look. The option defaults off; explicit hard breaks, paragraph boundaries, and code blocks keep their meaning (#459).
- A What's New window introduces features after an update. Reopen it from Help → What's New in Markdown Preview to revisit the highlights and release notes (#453).
Changed
- Documents open faster. Later document windows reuse a prepared reader, startup avoids unnecessary font loading, and eligible reopened documents show a saved preview while their content loads (#450).
- Read Mode keeps tables and task checkboxes read-only. Switch to Edit Mode to change them. Table cells in Edit Mode show inline formatting until focused, with improved text selection and formatting controls (#456).
Fixed
- CJK input keeps heading markers stable. Markdown heading syntax no longer flickers during input-method composition, including Japanese live conversion (#444).
- Text size changes apply immediately in Edit Mode. Toolbar controls, keyboard shortcuts, reset, and Settings update the editor without reopening it (#454).
- Navigation arrows stay visible and document search aligns correctly. Back and Forward no longer collapse into a dropdown when toolbar space is constrained, and the search field stays vertically centered (#452).
- Long search-result paths fit on one line. Paths truncate in the middle instead of wrapping and clipping; full paths remain available in tooltips (#455).
