- No more indefinite hangs: Every HTTP request made by a collector now has a 30-second timeout. Previously, a slow or unresponsive waste collector API could block an update indefinitely.
🧹 Under the hood
- More precise error handling: Several broad
except Exceptionblocks were replaced with specific exception types, so unrelated bugs are no longer silently swallowed. - Simplified config flow: Removed a hacky workaround used to share logic between the setup wizard and the options flow; this logic is now a single shared implementation, reducing duplication and the chance of the two flows behaving inconsistently.
- Test suite added: The integration now has an automated test suite (35 tests) that runs on every pull request via GitHub Actions, covering the data models, config flow helpers, sensor naming, and an end-to-end flow using the built-in demo collector.
No user-facing configuration changes. No action needed after updating.
